Hi Folks. Is there a way to adjust the size of the boards?

I cannot see the entire board on my screen anymore since the change. I kinda liked it better the way it was before. Is there something I can do to change the parameters of my own CPU so I can get the entire board to show up without reducing the size of the fonts? Please let me know. Thanks,

Same exact question. Please advise. Thanks!

I haven't seen a board size changing after the latest modifications were done with the exception of the reply box where replies are typed in. One thing you can do is change the screen resolution to a higher one. Mine is set for 1024x768 using a 19" monitor.

If you need help changing this setting, just let us know here.

Edit: Looks like another typo day for me today :(

Changing the resolution will decrease the size of the fonts on the page. Before the last board modifications I was able to see the entire screen(s). It seems that others are experiencing the same change as I. It also seems that I can view the "Main DIS Discussion Forums" page in it's entirety but when I click on a particular forum, that's when it becomes too large for my screen.

I don't see a size change either. Can you post a screen shot?

ok, danacara, you are already here...I am noticing wider boxes but they are still fitting my screen. I think my monitor is set at the same resolution as StormAlongBay's.

Couple of things that would be of interest if any of you that are seeing this could post please.

1. Like Mr. J. Cricket said, a screen shot of what you are seeing if you can.

2. The resolution that you are using for your display. Right click somewhere on your desktop but not on an icon. Select Properties and then the Settings tab. What is the size of the Screen Area? e.g. 1024 x 768 or 800 x 600 or 640 x 480 ...

3. Which pages are a problem and which are not? I think you said that the main Discussion Page was not a problem but the individual Forum pages were. What about when you view an individual thread?

4. If you can't get a screen shot, approximately how much of a page can you see and how much is off to the right? 70%/30%, 95%/5%, etc?

Thanks

I am having the same problem as Big Dude described. Not sure if it is because I have a smaller moniter (15") or not, but I didn't have the problem before the upgrade as Big Dude said. I checked my properties and they are set at 640x480 and when I change them the fonts of everything and my icons get very tiny. Any way to fix the problem?

When I pull up a page (i.e. tech support or CB) all I see is a huge box with the thread name and 1/4 of the box of the posters name and that is it.

It seems the "problem" is better on my home computer but still overflows the screen on the reply function. Here's a couple of pictures.

This is the main boards and fits within the confines of my monitor.

Here is the reply screen. It fit's mostly into the screen. I was having trouble with this screen at work as well as the individual boards flowing way over the edges. I'm not sure if anyone tried a fix between the time I left work for home but I suspect that my work computer will be the same if they didn't. To give you an idea, I was able to see app. 2/3 of the individual boards at work.

With today's technology and the use of Digital Cameras, "Screen Shot" takes on a whole new meaning :) Sorry. I was not expecting an actual photo of the screens. I usually get the graphic from the Print Screen key.

This does not show a problem, correct?

This is the same thing that I see. Funny thing is, if you edit the reply after it is posted, the edit box is now the proper size.

Anyone have a screen shot/photo of this one? This could be a problem.

All right. I'm back at work now and I am having the same problem. I am able to get a screen shot of the boards (without a digital camera;) ) but I am not sure how to post it. I received a PM from J. Cricket on how to post a screen shot but I'm hitting a snag. I use the print screen button then paste into a word document. He told me to save it as a .gif or .jpg file but that's where the snag is. I do not know how to do that. It seems the only options are .doc or .txt files. If someone can help me convert the word file to a gif or jpg, I'll be able to post the screen shot of the problem.

Like I said in my last post, it seems to be working ok at home but work is another story.

I'm having the same problem. This didn't occur before the changes over the weekend. The main DIS Discussions Forums page is fine. When I click on a particular forum, all I can see is the "Thread" and the "Thread Starter" columns. To see the other 4 columns (Replies, etc.) I need to scroll to the right. When I click on a post, I have no problem. Any suggestions? Thank you.

Adam: You can paste it into a photo editor instead of using Word. That should make it easier for you to post it here.

Here's the 1st one that is out of the boundaries but bearable.

Here is the other one that only lets me see up to the thread starter.

Let me know if I need to do something different.

I'm pretty sure I know which combination of settings you will need now. I'll try to figure them out with Adam through other channels in a little bit and I will post the results (and fix if there is one) here later on.

Cross your fingers!

I was wondering if it had to do with
  • "Large Fonts" set in Display Properties
  • Having a screen size smaller than 1024x768
  • IE being maximized

For me, when IE is maximized for me, the thread listings do appear to not wrap. I have "small fonts" set on a 1024x768 screen, IE is maximized and IE fonts set to medium. I'm unable to change to "Large Fonts" in Display Properties at this time because that would include a reboot.

It seems to be the result of 3 things:

1) Old outdated browsers (upgrade to IE5.x)

-or-

2) Resolution is too low (change to 1024 x 768 if you can)

-and-

3) Font is too small when resolution is increased (change fonts to "larger" or "largest" after resolution is increased)

Jelsoft knows about it and doesn't appear to think that it is a problem. (According to the links supplied above)

If anyone needs help attemting adjustments, feel free to ask.

Mr. Cricket: Some of the boards are OK (the Resorts and Teen Disney forums). As a result, I'm kind of hesitant to change settings on my computer. Does it make sense to you (having more computer knowlegde than me) that if some boards are OK, that it is indeed my computer and not a glitch on the boards? If so, could you please let me know (in "dumbed-down" terms) how I should fix this?

Thank you so much for your help.
