Hi everyone, hope you all had a lovely Christmas. We got back on the 23rd but I haven't had time to write since I got back.
We had a great time. There was magic everywhere and it was wonderful, but I was dissappointed with a few things!!
The atmosphere and size of the Sequoia was more than I expected, cosy evenings at the Redwood Bar, with the very friendly staff put a wonderful end to each of our 3 nights at the Sequoia. Everything was perfect with this part of the holiday.
The park itself was amazing, although I do think the Arches in Main St had a more Christmassy feel than the Chandeliers (which are beautiful when lit up). I've never been to DLP when it has been so busy and I will NEVER make that mistake again. All the rides had queues of 30 minutes or more, apart from our last day, which was much quieter. So we spent alot of time queuing! We managed to do everything we wanted to do, apart from the Lion King Show, which we have never seen. With the rides being so busy it meant we had more time to soak up the atmosphere which was good.
I noticed that people were smoking all over the park... something I've never seen before. While we were queueing for rides, in Main St, Fantasyland, just about everywhere....... I didn't like that!
Also I saw 2 things that really shocked me, the first was a couple (actually a Lesbian couple which made it worse as my children had never seen anything like this) They were kissing (and I mean kissing, you could see everything!!) and FONDLING, yes FONDLING, UNDER their coats, it was so obvious and I was really shocked, my children (14 and 16) were very, VERY, embarassed!! It would have been just as bad if the couple were straight.... I think some things are best left to the imagination.... my children and lots of other people and children, really didn't need to see that. And you won't believe this, this was all happening in the queue (35 mins) to Phantom Manor. Luckily we were not directly behind them.... but the woman infront of us with her family was absolutely fuming!
The other thing that shocked me happened in Main St, outside one of my fav places, Cable car Bake shop. A young boy of about 3, pulled his trousers and pants down, around his ankes ,and began weeing on one of the trees and all over the pavement!! His father got the camera out and was taking photos!!!! Honestly some people!! There was no need for that, there are enough toilets in DLP. Also that's a place where people sit and wait for parades!! Awful!!
Now I've made myself sound like a right old whinger, but really I'm not!! I just wanted to share that with you and get it off my chest!!
Overall, we had a great time. I just don't feel satisfied.... I need to go back for more!! I will probably book up again for feb or Mar, when it's quieter and I can feel like the park is "ours". I'll try to put some photos on here today.
