HHN Q's?

Hello! My boyfriend and I are going to FL for our honeymoon, and neither of us have been to Universal Studios. We are planning on getting a two day base ticket, and doing the IOA Sat Sept. 29th with a Blue Man Group show that night, and doing UO Sun Sept. 30th and the HHN that evening.

So from what I've heard, they close the park early for this and then open it back up?
How much extra do the tickets for this event cost?
Do the characters grab at you or anything?('cause that would freak me out!)
Are there a lot of long lines for anything?

I guess I just don't know much about it..and am hoping I can still get what I pay for during the daytime at the parks!

So from what I've heard, they close the park early for this and then open it back up? Yes..the Studios will close at 5pm on event nights and then reopen for HHN at 6:30pm
How much extra do the tickets for this event cost? Not sure yet. The prices have not been released but last year I think it was around $69.95 or so. I really can't remember. However...since you will already have your theme park tickets, you can purchase the HHN at a reduced rate called the Stay & Scream discount. It's a very nice discount so that's something to think about.
Do the characters grab at you or anything?('cause that would freak me out!) They will get in your face but they are not allowed to touch you and you cannot touch them.
Are there a lot of long lines for anything? Yes...the house wait times will reach two hours on very busy nights so purchasing Express is very important if you want to see everything in a single night.

I guess I just don't know much about it..and am hoping I can still get what I pay for during the daytime at the parks!

Awesome! Thank you so much!! We will be staying at a Disney resort the whole time and take a bus over to Universal for those two days...I haven't bought my UO and IOA tickets yet...should I wait to buy the tickets so I can get that discount on HHN?

You can purchase theme tickets any time and once you have those, you can purchase the HHN tickets at the discount. I would strongly recommend purchasing the HHN tickets for the same night you're visiting the Studios. Reason being...if you are already in the park before closing and have a valid ticket for that night's HHN, you are allowed to stay in the park in what's called the Stay & Scream area. You would be held for about an hour and then released into the park before the general public is allowed in. This will save you lots of time and you'll be able to do three or four houses before the line gets really long.

You should definitely consider it since if you don't go the same night you purchase the tickets for, you would have to stand outside at gates until 6:30pm and are released with the general public. The line usually begins to build around 5pm and will get very long very quickly.

you can purchase (now or before you go on the trip) the UO tickets online at the UO website.

save the confirmation order number.

when the HHN tickets go on sale, you can call and buy the HHN ticket at the discounted S & S rate.
give your past order number for the UO tickets and you will qualify for the discount on hhn tix.

if you buy your tickets from another source, you can buy the hhn tickets at guest services in the park.
all you need is proof of the day park ticket to get the stay & scream discounted ticket.

but, buy that hhn tix before the park closes.
the lines are long at guest services for those waiting in line to make the purchase.
