Is there anyone out there who's been to HHN on Halloween night before? What are the crowds like - very tight quarters, or will we have a pretty easy time getting around?

Also, in your experience, what rides are left open during this time?

I'm pretty excited to go - this is our first trip to Universal ever and we LOVE Halloween, so this is perfect!

Halloween's on a Wednesday this year, think that will make a difference?

Thanks everyone!

I haven't been on Halloween night personally but I know a lot people who have and the crowds are insane! I would definately recommend getting an Express Pass for that night. Most of the rides will be open except the ones being used as a house. Usually Earthquake is closed due to the house entrance is through their queue area.

I went on Halloween in 2004. It was a Sunday. Didn't think we needed Express Passes because it was a "school night." Boy, was I WRONG. Wrong. Wrong is an understatement. It was SOOO crowded I don't think we got through 2 houses.

P.S. In fact, it was sold out that night. We left early, and a couple approached us asking if they could have tickets (before bioscan) because that night was sold out. We had the FF passes with our pics on them so couldn't help them out.

I've heard just the opposite. Last year it was dead, as was the year before. Bill and Ted was also different last year on the last night, they brought out Dr.Evil!

OK, thanks everyone who has replied sofar!
I decided to call and see what it would cost to upgrade my tickets with fastpass... apparently it is a totally "different" and additinal ticket that you buy - which I had no clue. So for the two of us on an "off" night will be $71.98 on top of what I've already spent. Sigh. Will it be worth it? I don't know.

Tell me if this sounds right or not - she was telling me WITH the express ticket times can be from 45min to an hour typically. Now would you say that goes for an "off night"? But then again it's Halloween, so I don't know. ugh..

I also asked what rides will be open during that time and she said that information is not available as of yet, but it should be up on their Horror Nights site within the next couple days. I'll keep my eyes peeled for that.

Any more input from others is still welcomed! Thanks again for those who've responded!! :3dglasses

OH - and a quick edit to add this - is it in both parks, or the IOA only?

It's just in the Studios this year.

We were there on Halloween in 2004 as well and it was crazy busy. We're getting our EP's for Halloween this year due to that very fact. It's on a Wednesday, so who knows - it might be less busy.

I would assume (as explained earlier on this thread) that most of the rides will be open to help cope with the crowds given it's only in one park. For the record, I really hope Jaws is open as I've never been on it at night and I think it would be awesome in the dark!

The lines can get really big and you can find yourself waiting up to and above 1.5 hours to get into a house. It gets tiring standing around for so long. I would say the EP would likely be worth it, although I've not used one before.

Yeah, I'm thinking I'll get the EP - at least for the Halloween part. During the day I just can't float doing another EP money-wise. Hopefully it'll help. Pay day is next FRIDAY! YAY, so I'll be putting it on my to-do list of purchases...
