So, we finally went to HHR this year on Oct 29 and it was great. We did the UTH tour that morning (which was really great) and got to see Dracula, Werewolf and Frankenstein. Our guide ask DH why he was considering not doing the event and he said he thought it may just be too intense for us. After the tour, DH agreed and we were off to Guest Services to Stay and Scream. She said if we were not planning to stay in the park all day, we should be back no later than 4:30 and she also said the holding area in front of Finnigans was the better of the two. We rode a couple of rides (including RRR- AWESOME) and went to have lunch and a swim.

We came back just after 4 and rode a couple of rides and ended up coming off MIB as the security guys came out...so wrong holding area, but whatever.

45 mins later, we were headed for Silver Screams. The theatre was so pretty and I swear I smelled popcorn..and then I met the usher...so creepy. I was not as nervous as I expected to be. The bad guy from My Bloody Valentine made me jump and grab hold of DH's t-shirt. My first scream came with the hanging bodies and then in the room with the strangers. The guy was coming at me around the coffee table on my left and I was trying so hard to get away from him, I did not see the girl on my right. EEKKK!! And as we were leaving, I screamed at the usher on my left and right. MAN that was intense (and I have stretched our that t-shirt).

We were going to head to Wolfman. but Chucky opened so we went. I HATED THAT BRIDGE and instantly felt sick. The fog didn't help and I said to DH "I am going to be sick" and I coughed my way out of that house. Chucky made me jump a few times, the monkeys and army guys were cool and DH jumped in the plush room. The last Chucky was mocking my coughing and chased me out. One of the medical guys saw me and pulled me aside. He asked if I had asthma and did I have my inhaler and I sat in one of his chairs for a few minutes until he thought I was OK. As I was sitting there, I saw all of the smoke coming out of that house and worried about going into the other houses. He said that this one was one of the worst (and I never saw another medic the rest of the night).

It was 6:15 and I wanted to get to SAW before the main crowd got there. LOVED LOVED LOVED that house. The air thing when Billy came pedalling towards you was timed perfectly to get me and I jumped but did not scream. I saw a "pig man" coming out of his boo hole and he saw that I saw him and motioned for me to not say anything as he scared the girl behind me. Amanda in the bear trap was creepy and the end was scary/awesome.

We wanted to get in at least one more house, so we went to Leave it to Cleaver. LOVED IT- one of the guys asked me if I thought of selling DH because they paid by the pound. The creepiest part was the thick plastic in the "walk in freezer" and the strobe lights.

SO..here's the score so far..first house, I really loved the theming but hung on the hubby for dear life and screamed multiple times..second house, no screaming and no hanging on but lots of coughing...third house, no screaming, some jumping and interacting with characters and looking around and no issue at all with the 4th house.

Then we did the first show of Bill and Ted which was awesome, but the crowds were INSANE when we got out. We did the scare zones (liked the army and the drive in one) and went to see how long the lines were for the three we saw that moning and they were super long. And we were both tired. So we called it a night.

Lessons learned:
Next year, we will sleep in and be lazy and show up just in time to stay and scream.

The stay and scream is a wonderful option and we would not have seen as much as we did without it.

And last but not least, we will so be back.

You didn't miss anything by not using the Finnegan's area. They are mostly equal unless you want to do dinner while you're waiting or really want to do the soundstage houses first instead of Silver Screams and Chucky. Otherwise, Kid Zone is actually better in some ways. There are places to sit down and a large public restroom (vs. waiting in line for the tiny ones in Finnegan's). Also, you can line up early for the first house rather than having to walk down to it. I'm glad you had fun!

Thanks everyone and YES, thanks to all of what I read here on the DIS, there is a new HHN fan :cool1: who can't wait for next year (what was I so nervous:laughing: about)
