On HHN, do the parks close early? If so, around what time?

Also, does this event just take place on the weekend? We are thinking about going around the time that HHN is going on, but we don't want to go and don't want to have to leave the park early. I'm hoping it doesn't happen on week nights so we'd have normal hours (if they do close early for the event?)

The park hosting HHN (usually USF) will close an hour early, while the other park closes at it's usual time in October. HHN runs from Thursday night to Sunday night, each week. I believe that one week (Hell week?) might also have HHN on a Wednesday.

On HHN nights the Studios usually closes at 5pm...reopens for HHN around 7pm but is then open until midnight on off-peak nights and 2am on weekends for HHN.

HHN is staged Thursday through Sunday with an occassional Wednesday thrown in for good measure. If you're looking for normal weekday hours, stick with Monday - Wednesday.

During HHN Universal Studios closes around 5PM. However if you are in the park and have a valid HHN ticket you are allowed to stay in a holding area and get released at 6.30PM (ish), half an hour before those queuing outside get in.

HHN takes place on (selected Wednesdays), Thursdays, Fridays Saturdays and Sundays. Tickets for Friday and Saturday are the most expensive. :)

:thumbsup2 I agree with vinvader - your best bet is the "stay and scream" option where if you are in the park during the day, you go to the holding area while they clean out the park of daytime guests. Once they release you from the holding area, you can get in two or three houses before they open the gates to the general public (usually the sound stage houses). If you choose not to do the stay and scream option, you should be in line around 5:00-5:30 pm as you'll need to go through metal detectors before you get to the turnstiles and it's not uncommon to have a long line-up at the entrance to the park. You will need a separate ticket for HHN (I forget the price of a ticket but I think it was about $70 - however if you buy a "stay and scream" ticket it's much cheaper)
