HHN - Legendary Truth

Do any of you follow this storyline? I don't participate, didn't in '08 either, but it does add another layer to what's going on. So far it's been slowish in developing, but as of the past few days it's picked up quite a bit, and I think this is the angle they are going to use to build up to closer to opening night. I don't believe for a minute there will be a "full reveal" on the 26th.

Oh, it has the potential this year to really be good. I liked what they did with it in '08 just from the perspective of adding to the backstory of Bloody Mary, but I never did any of the scavenger hunts, etc. that a lot of people really got into.

I think a lot of what they reveal on the 26th will be disputed and attempted to be debunked by LT, as right now the story is that Universal is lying to everyone about a lot of things, it's actually pretty interesting to me at least, but like I said, I haven't actually participated, I'm just following along.

ETA - Sorry, didn't mean to give the initial impression that I don't follow the storyline, I do. I just don't actively participate in it. Anyone that joins can participate, right now they are trying to piece together some pattern in some photos that were gotten from Universal. Most likely a portal that is linked to the lantern.

I saw this for the first time a few days ago and haven't been able to figure it out. I guess if I had been involved when they started in '08 (right?) then I would understand more about what's going on.

I'll try, just keep in mind it's all set up by Universal (I'm not so sure some of the people joining realize this, but I digress).

In '08, LT was brought in because they were specialists in the supernatural. They partnered with Universal and actually witnessed the manifestation of Mary Agana (Bloody Mary, the icon for that year that Universal did a helluva job building a story for). She was a crazed psychiatrist that believed that immersing her patients in their darkest fears would cure them, but after the first patient essentially killed himself, she had a taste for intentionally causing her subsequent patients to do the same. Long story short, she disappeared one night in the 50's (I think). She came back through a mirror (that's where they tied in the legend of chanting "Bloody Mary" into a mirror, kinda like the movie "Candyman").

Now, apparently all of the senior staff at LT have been replaced, and for the first time since '08 the site is active and they are saying that the people at UO are lying to the public and that they know that the HHN icons are more than just entertainment. This time, UO is resisting the "help" of LT for this reason.

You'll have to check out their facebook page to really get the details for how they are playing it this year, but I guarantee you that the "full reveal" that is supposed to happen in 2 days is going to turn into a lot more than whatever UO releases at that time.

Rip, I'm like you, following along on facebook but not participating in any of the research, because I'm not good at sluething. In fact, I'm usually stumped at how they uncover many of the clues.
