Do you have an AP or are going to be at the Studios that day? If so, get there before the parks close and do Stay & Scream. You won't have to wait in the line outside and get a jump on the crowds. If not, I would recommend getting in line around 5pm and waiting as the crowd will be quite large. Or...you could purchase the $15.00 IOA ticket for entry after 4pm and you can come in the side entrance and avoid the crowds that way.

I would def. try to do Stay & scream. I did it last year for the first time and I was able to walk through some of the houses without the big crowds. It felt like I was walking through by myself. (That girl from hanging from the rafters in Psychoscarapy really got me good:scared1: ) :rotfl:

I have a 14 day Orlando Flex ticket for my trip. I was planning to have a park-free day on the day I am going to HHN, but I am starting to re-think that!
As it won't cost me anything to go to IOA, would it be a good plan to go there in the afternoon, do a few rides etc, then head over to HHN? Will I miss some of the crowds by doing this? From what I can gather I can walk straight from IOA into US without having to go through the front gates. What time can I do this from?
I could just as easily go US earlier in the afternoon, then stay in the park for HHN - am I allowed to do this without having purchased a Stay and Scream ticket, or do I just need to have a valid day ticket and a HHN ticket?

What would anyone recommend? If I can avoid standing around for long periods of time before I even get into HHN that would be good :rotfl:

I would recommend being in US as it closes rather than go over to IOA. It has always seemed that the houses open first to those that are being held in US. And while this requires you waiting around a little bit (45-60-ish minutes), you do get to avoid the lines at the front gate and you do get a head start on a house or two. Plus, while all the front gate people rush to the house you already experienced, you'll be able to do the next 2-3 houses with minimal wait. At least that is my experience with staying inside of US through closing.

I remember last year, I was pretty much able to get all houses done except for the Vampyr: Blood bath and Dead Silence before it got busy.

if a person arrives at the studios around 6:30, be prepared to wait and not get into the park until 7ish.

the line usually starts around 5ish after the park is closed.

you have to go thru metal detectors when you enter which is time consuming.

the park opens at 6:30.
you would be in the midst of the crowd if you waited until 6:30 to arrive to get into the line.

stay and scream, as metro said, is the way to go.

To do the Stay and Scream, you just need a valid day ticket and HHN ticket. The Stay and Scream ticket being sold is the same ticket as the HHN ticket, the only difference is that its at a reduced price for those with a day ticket.

Thanks for all the tips

I was planning on just turning up, but i might try and get there early and have some fun in the parks first.

Figaro, thanks for your comment, i love that little guy. I am trying to build my own WallE at home out of old vacum cleaner parts, but its not looking much like him at the mo.... :rolleyes1

You ll have to post a pic if you manage to finish him. Im gutted as i ve not seen Wall-e yet & was hoping it will be shown on our flight. But i ve just seen the Virgin Oct film add ons & it is nt there :sad2:

That same girl got my boyfriend on all 3 trips through Psychoscarapy last year! :lmao: You would think he would have gotten it after the first or second time. I nearly died laughing the third time.

Psychoscarapy...sigh! I miss that house!

We did one visit to HHN last year waiting outside. Never again! Make sure you are inside the park for sure. We just eat dinner at Finnegan's which puts us in a prime position. They allow the diners (and drinkers) to wait inside and release them a bit early. You can get a great jump on the houses from there.

That was my favorite house from last year! I wonder which house will be the "adult" house this year? Last year and in 2004 it was the Castle Vampyr houses. I'm thinking Doomsday is going to be the one this year.
