HHN Express Pass...Strange

A few days ago I saw some strange EP behavior. We were at Stay & Scream, and Creatures opened first. Everyone trekked over there, and a group of people in front of us veered into the EP lane (we were all among the first to get to the entrance). They were talking amongst themselves about how it was their goal to be the very, very first to use EP. Uh, people, there is NO line...repeat, NO line! They laughed and cheered in triumph as their passes were checked while the rest of us continued past them in standby. The irony was, they got into the house much later than they would have because the passes had to be checked at the entrance, then scanned at the checkpoint. They would have been within the first two or three groups (we were right behind them) and they ended up getting in way after us. It was one of those things that made me go

I understand it if you're just there to do all the houses once and then leave, but even then, if there is no line why use the pass? Just go through standby when the wait is non-existent...then, if it's crowded when you leave, you can do a RAoK and hand your pass to someone else. And what is the big deal to be the first to use EP if it means you wait LONGER than everyone else? Really, really, really bizarre.....

I've seen the exact same thing. I think people don't realize all the ins and outs of the express pass and how to use them to their fullest potential.

I've seen the same thing numerous times!

During 'Stay and Scream' I did a couple of the houses which stated that the wait time was 5 minutes. Whilst walking to the house entrance a number of people were in the express queue even though the regular line was about 10 people long! I had express passes on me but I wouldn't use them unless the line was at least 30 minutes.

I guess they didn't know that they could only be used once per house and probably returned later only to be turned away.

i did use my ep when i was with you guys that one night.
i planned to leave early that sunday night and figured might as well use it since i wouldn't be around very long that night.

even though i my ep line went in first, we all met up with all of you before the entrance of that house.

On Wed, we did 5 houses before using our EPs, we went through each house twice that night, and Interstellar and another (can't remember which one right now) 3 times! It was awesome, you have to hook up with some HHN vets and locals, who know where to go right out of the gate, we did that every night after our Finnegan's get togethers. I'll have pix on photobucket soon, have over 1800 to go through at last count (I shoot in sports mode a lot) anyway, this to me was the best HHN yet, and cannot wait until next year. I know one thing for sure, it will be another 2 week stay, just like this year. The only bad part is the PHHND (Post Halloween Horror Nights Depression) but, I'm slowly getting over it, once I get back into my normal routine again, and find someone to buy my son, which is getting harder to do, since he is 21 now (to finance next years trip) I'll be good to go
