I was just on the HHN website looking at EP's, when I saw it says "Each Halloween Horror Nights Express Pass allows one entry to each participating Express attraction, per guest.". Does that really mean that you can only use it once for each house per night? I feel that it's pretty darn expensive for only letting you go through them once without waiting in the normal line...

Yes it is very expensive for only one admission per house and ride. However the queues for houses can rise to as much as two hours which can really ruin you're enjoyment of the event. Personally I always buy an express for at least one of the days I attend HHN.

Wow, that's pretty upsetting! Ha I figured they were good all night, what a bummer, oh well, at least I know now! And I'll prolly pick one up for my last night there, just to make sure I can get through the houses once more...

Remember that if you get in as soon as possible you can go to your favorite house or two and not use your EP as the lines won't be too long. Then you can go back later and use your EP.

use the stay and scream if you have the day park ticket.

you'll be a head start on 3 of the houses before the general public is let in.

those first houses you go thru will be still when it is light outside.
repeat them later with your epp and you will feel like it is a different house.

there are some dates in the beginning that do not have the crowds.
when it rains, peeps scamper to shelter....
i just get wet and continue.

if you are going multiple dates, then yes, i would say that is a good thing to buy the epp for your last night there.

Definitely plan on utilizing the Stay and Scream, that was awesome back in '08, we really did get to knock out a few houses very quickly, and it's a great time to grab some food at Finnegan's while you wait! I definitely think that'll be my plan, that way I'll definitely have an awesome last night!

As Brownie54 and macraven say above, I try and get as many houses done as I can before the queues get too bad then I hit them again with the express. Every year as we're released from Stay & Scream I see loads of people use their Express passes on the first house when the regular queue is only a couple of minutes. Sometimes we even beat them as they have to stop and get their tickets scanned. :lmao:

so true!!

i have seen that before also.

if the line for a house is 15 minutes, you can wait in the regular line.

use that ep when the lines are l.o.n.g.

i love to do repeats in the houses in order to catch Team A and Team B in action.

Steady Riot, you'll get over the shell shock of prices for the express passes for hhn after you have been a few times.

i have been buying the epp for years.
many years ago when they started, i bought them.
didn't need them really except for a few houses.

each year the crowds increase.

sometimes you can wing it and get a lot of houses done without the epp but it can be a headache when the regular line is not moving.
(also, you might not make it thru all the houses.)

opening weekend hasn't been bad for crowds. study the map for hhn houses and zones and make a plan if you don't buy the epp.

if you go columbus day weekend and after,
buy the epp.

if you still are not sure, buy the epp at guest services during the event night you are there.

once you are there and have the epp, you will be very happy......
no long waits in lines.

i say all of this based on my experiences at hhn.
others may say otherwise.

My first HHN in 2004...EPs were $20.00 for off peak nights.

Just sayin.
:rolleyes1

If you Stay & Scream and then go AGAINST the flow (head towards the houses in Kidzone first), you can see 4-5 of the houses before 7pm. You can even repeat one or two if the lines aren't too long. Then bear the brunt of the three near the front of the park and you can theoretically see everything before 9pm. After that, you can see Bill & Ted and maybe ride some rides. You'll have a full evening and not need express!

If you have an EP, then go revisit favorites to see the other cast!

EP's are expensive but so worth it. I went once without one and the waits for the houses were really bad. If you have to wait 2 hours to get into the houses you aren't going to see much. Now I wont go without one, even on non peak nights.
