Is 3 nights in a row too much?

Never been before. I like haunted houses. Blood and gore not so much, but I do like spooky theming a lot. Blood and gore doesn't repulse me, it's just not my thing. I'm really being drawn in by ghostbusters and stranger things, but I'm not sure if it warrants me going for all 3 nights. I was planning to get the rush of fear with express pass.

We go three nights (though we are usually on a Sunday, Wednesday, Thursday schedule in October), and we really like it that way. We also have Express Passes. The first night we go through each house, the first show, and a couple rides (Mummy and Gringotts). The second night we go through each house, the second show (when there is a second show), and a couple rides. Then on the third night, we decide what we want to do: all houses or just favorite houses; one, both, or neither shows; and a couple rides. This plan works great for us! If we lived in Orlando, we would save up for the Ultimate Passes with Express and wear them out.

As for the blood and gore, yes there will be some. I except the House of 1000 Corpses house to by far have the most blood and gore. The other IPs (Stranger Things, Ghostbusters, Universal Monsters, Killer Klowns from Outer Space, and Us), I wouldn't think those would have a lot of blood and gore. Who knows about the original concept houses (Yeti, Depths of Fear, Graveyard Games, Nightingales), but my guess is that Nightingales might be blood and gore. The others, I wouldn't expect too much gore just spooky, thematic houses.

Based on what you've said, I really think you will have a great time. With three nights with express, you can try them all the first night and then skip the ones that you don't like on the second and third nights. Remember you also have five scare zones to enjoy as well, and those haven't been overly graphic the last several years.

Since you specifically said "spooky theming," that is another sign that you would enjoy HHN. The set, costume, and make-up designers are really top-notch and make the houses and zones really distinct and thematic. It's really something to experience.

Thanks for the reply!!! Should I worry about the multi-night passes with EP selling out? I was going to wait till closer to my trip to buy it. Also, do you have any favorite websites you read for HHN touring plans or strategy?

ROF (rush of fear) Rush of Fear covers the first 17 nights of the event, ending on Sept. 29. Price is$109.99 (with HHN Express Pass: $334.99)

FF (frequent fear) Frequent Fear Pass works on 26 nights, including every Sunday-through-Thursday span, plus the first two weekends and the final Friday.

FF also had EP included at a higher price.

You're welcome! I think the main risks of sell-out are single-night Express Passes and single-night tickets. Historically, the answer would be, for your timeframe in September (since you are looking at Rush of Fear tickets), the answer would be to not worry about sellout and crowds. However, last year Stranger Things brought in a lot more people for the whole event including the first few weeks. There was a day or two in September that sold out single night tickets. You might want to consider timing your purchase to the start of a new credit card billing cycle, particularly since we are just under a month from the event starting. I don't want to give you a "you must buy it now!" feeling, but I would like to get tickets as soon as reasonably possible. I just bought our Frequent Fear w/ Express last week.

You didn't mention which three days you plan to attend, but I'll assume it isn't the first three days. There will be some users here that will give reports early in the event. I also check Twitter and my wife checks Facebook for reports. A lot of that info will be relayed here as well (in the main HHN thread that is stickied here ). For more general and specific info about the event, I would again check the first page of the sticked HHN link, and I would also read the info at Orlando Informer's HHN page.

If you want to watch some YouTube videos about past HHN events, I recommend watching Tim and Jen Tracker's videos (YouTube user name is TheTimTracker). They have videos of walking through scare zones and reviews of the houses. Note that USO does not allow filming inside the houses; however, there are videos of the Trackers and other media people going through houses with a camera (the camera is placed right on their face with a bright light, so the experience is not quite what you would experience, but it gives you an idea). Finally, I recommend searching YouTube for Ellen DeGeneres HHN. She makes her producer (whom is terrified of haunted houses) go through a house each year, but you'll notice that he and a friend go through alone. In reality we all go through in a continuous conga line. Those videos are pretty funny.

Hope this helps! I really think you will enjoy HHN. I mean, imagine the spooky, gothic sets of the Classic Monsters house! Throw in you said you're interested in Ghostbusters and Stranger Things, and I'm sure you will have a blast!

As PP mentions, 3 nights would certainly allow you to do things at your leisure and not have to rush. You can take your time enjoying the scare zones, the shows, specialty snacks and drinks, etc. We were able to do this all in one evening, but we were there from 6pm until about 1am so it did make for a long night. Personally, I think two nights is optimal.

If I have 3 nights with express pass do you think I should get the $25 stay and scream add on too? I plan to be at WDW during the day so not in UOR parks.

If you are not going to be in the uo parks at 3, I would take a pass on it

You would have to buy a day ticket plus the add on ticket which is $25 for only 2 hours in the park

If you are spending the day at Disney you would have to leave around 2:30 to be at UO for the 3:00 entry

( you have City Walk security to go thru before you hit the park)

Money wise not to your advantage

It’s kind of a toss of a coin on how others feel what is best

Mac from my brief reading I thought the $25 add-on did NOT require a normal day ticket. So if you have a day ticket you have to pay an extra $25 to stay in the holding pen instead of exiting the park?

For peeps that do not have a day park ticket, the add on ticket allows them to enter the park at 3 and be able to utilize the stay and scream option.
(hhn ticket required)

If you have a day ticket and the hhn ticket, you can go directly to one of the s&s holding pens and wait there for hhn to open

HatboxHaint, you are fine
Right now there is nothing listed on other sites that the parks will be jammed when you go in September
Typically, the first 3 weeks of hhn is not packed.
Rush of Fear tickets don't sell out and thats because they only cover up thru September

You have 3 nights w/ express planned for hhn

Now if you had said you were going during Columbus day weekend or the week after that holiday, I would suggest to buy that special add on ticket.
