hhmmm... Bistro?

We have been to CdF three times. We thought would would try Bisto this time. (Have PS already.)
But looking at the Bostro menu on Deb's site.... not much selection.
I am re-thinking if we should return to old tried and true Chefs.
Just seems more $ and not as much selection at Bistro. However, I am sure anything at Bistro's would be great. (But Chefs is pretty darn good. ) Is Bistro worth the extra $?

I read that it's a lot less busy than Chefs and more intimate.

True-the menu selection is a bit on the slim side. But I think it is a "better" restaurant, mostly due to friendlier service and a much more open, quiet atmosphere. CDF has always impressed me as rushed, noisy, and often service to match.
BTW-we're going to Bistro in May!!

We just returned from an evening at the Bistro on 12/4! It was an excellent meal with the best service. Richard was our waiter...a real charmer and very helpful. He encouraged us to order their fish dishes...their specialty. I had lobster (outstanding!); my Mom had a special called wall-eyed pike; Dad had scallops; DH had a filet. All of our entrees, appetizers (crab dish and frioe gras), and 3 desserts were wonderful. DH and dad had poached pear for dessert and I had a baked pineapple with thyme sorbet (really different!). DH had recently had a better filet at Spoodle's but the rest of us were quite pleased. The bill was $250 which included 3 glasses of wine and 3 cocktails.

Beware that these are not huge, pig-like American servings of food, but artistically presented and adequate servings of food. Appetizers could be shared by 2; 3 if small tastes are all that are needed.

Yes, the atmosphere is quiet with few children. There is generous spacing between tables. Servers were polite and unobtrusive. I would return!

We loved Bistro. I also love CdF, but the atmospheres are very different. Bistro is very refined and quiet. It doesn't really seem like a theme park restaurant.

BUT- if you don't like what's on the menu, you won't enjoy your meal just because it's a nice atmosphere.

I find most WDW restaurants have limited menus compared to restaurants in the "real world." If I can find one thing on the menu that looks good, I'll go to give it a try.

Yeah, I really do think it's worth the extra $! Don't get me wrong - I like Chefs a lot. But the Bistro is a notch above it. You don't even feel like you're in a theme park restaurant. It's more quiet, yet not so much so that you feel uncomfortable. The menu *does* have a smaller selection, but even my picky eater husband finds things that he likes to eat on their menu. The service is consistently wonderful too!

We definitely think the Bistro is worth it. It is much quieter than Chefs and I think the service is better. There are always 2 or 3 specials not listed on the main menu. Also, on our May visit I just didn't really want anything listed. I was going to just go with appetizers. The waiter asked "can you just tell me something you might like?" Voila!!!!! No problem. A beautful fish dish with divine gratin potatoes and veggies was made.

We always go to Bistro on the 1st night of our stay. I have never had a bad meal, bad service or bad wait. The managers have always visited our table and everyone has always been extremely attentive to our son (a true caviar lover and big fan of Bistro since age 6).
