Hi everyone and Happy 4th of July! I'm looking for some information about Hilton Head. I'm in the planning stages for a 3-4 day stay with my best friend of over 40 yrs. Next year we will both be turning 60 and thought a catch up getaway will ease some of the pain. I wonder if there is a better forum for info here but could use some answers to a few questions. We are looking at the end of April, possibly into May. This will be at the 7 mo. window. Is this a very popular time at this resort? Easter is at the end of March so spring break should be done with. We want a studio and know that the resort is much smaller than those at the World. Also, do they have any studios with two beds or just the bed/sleeper couch set-up? Thanks for any help you can offer.

I think Hilton Head would be a great place for a birthday trip! I don't think this would be a busy time of the year at Hilton Head, but there are only a very small number of studios available at Hilton Head. Studios and 1BRs are difficult to obtain, but 2BRs would probably be doable. I've never stayed in a studio at Hilton Head, but seems like they have the 1 queen, sofa bed combo like most studios.

There are only 16 studios at HHI. Summer months are the busiest and hardest to get. I've never been end of April/beginning of May, but I want to someday when I retire from teaching. All studios at HHI have queen beds and full-size sleep sofas, none with 2 beds.

Yes, all the studios have that single bed, couch combination. We went at the end of April once, but it was Easter weekend and the Heritage classic (the one and only year, I think, that the HC coincided with Easter) so it was very busy then. On a "normal" year, maybe not so bad. We stayed in a studio then, and had to waitlist for a few days, but our waitlist came through quickly.

A beautiful time of the year to go to HHI. The pull out bed in the studio is comfortable but a bit of a pain closing everyday. If DVC sold out there are tons of reasonable condos available in Palmetto Dunes ( where DVC is) and Sea Pines. I go every year with friends from high school and we have a blast!
