How difficult is it to get a reservation for HHI in July? I live in SC and would like to take the kids down for 3 or 4 days.

For any time in July, I would categorize it as "extremly difficult" to get a reservation if you don't own HH points. Even if you do own and wait until the 8th or 9th month to call, its not unusual to get locked out.

We got early June (1bdrm) at 7 mos. last year. July & August are definitely peak.

Early June and late August may be a bit easier, because of staggered school schedules in different parts of the country.

It also depends on what type of villa you're looking for. The resort is mostly dedicated 2BRs. Therefore, those are somewhat easier to get, even at peak times, at 7 months. Studios, 1BRs, and especially GVs are much more difficult.

My experience has been that form the week leading into the 4th of July through the Labor Day weekend are the most difficult times to get at HH. As one poster mentioned earlier, the beginning of June, say into the third week or so can be had at the 7 month mark...even though we own HH, we have gotten that time inside 7 months.

For the last 2 years, I havent had any trouble getting a spot in early June. I did have to waitlist this year for a 1 BR as there were only 2BR avail at the time I called but the 1 BR did come through...

It might be difficult but not impossible. I was able to get 1 bdrm during the 4th of July week at 7 months calling day by day.
