We are scheduled to stay in a grand villa at OKW for 3 days in June of 2003 before our 3 days cruise, most of us would rather stay at HHI for those 3 days but the person who booked our stay and cruise thought that HHI would be to far of a drive on the day of check in for the cruise any thoughts on this? We also only have points at OKW so can't book HHI until 4 more months would that "cost" us anything to make the change? Thanks for your help!

HHI is very popular in the summer so I would think that unless you have HH points it would be hard to book plus it will be more for June
HH points at GV
Sun-thurs 58
Friday 116

for OKW at GV
sun-thurs 51
fri - sat 123

so yes it would be more

have you looked at Vero Beach - they have a beach cottage that I think is great - it also much closer to Cape Canaveral.
VB points at GV
sun-thurs 53
fri-sat 132

It shouldn't "cost" anything unless there is a point difference for those nights between HH and OKW. HH is usually at capacity in the summer months, but depending on when in June you go it may not be a problem booking at 7 mos. Studios and 1bdrs are the toughest to get since there are only 21 of each. HH is about a 5 hour drive to Orlando. Not sure about the drive to catch the cruise. You might also want to consider VB since it would be the closest to the ships.

You can get on board as early as 12:30 or as late as 3:30.

Map it on Mapquest - its 4-5 hours. Very doable - and my family loves HH - but I concur on VB - its only about an hour from the ships.

Enjoy!

I vote for OKW, you can go to the parks and really have fun before that boring cruise.

We cruised once, found it kind of boring, may do the Disney cruise some day, may not.

In fact, in my opinion, I think you should cancel the cruise and stay at OKW the whole time.

Well, you did ask for opinions......

We live about 1 hr from WDW and HH is one of our DVC homes and it is fabulous but it is 4.5 hrs from CC. If you decide to stay at HH you would have to get up and rolling early in the morning but it can be done. You will love the DCL, it is so much fun with tons of things to do, great shows, wonderful ports of call and great food. We have gone on 4 DC so far with our 5 cruise this fall.
