HHI Update

We are scheduled to checkin this Sunday (10/30) at HHI. I just called MS and talked to a very nice lady. She talked to her Supervisor and came back and said as of right now the resort would be open for us to checkin on Sunday. She did not give a date of when it would reopen but that it would be open on the 30th.

Aha-just curious, was that you on the Facebook page? If not, someone else had the same experience. I'll be really anxious to hear your experience. I read just today in the Island Packet that the Palmetto Dunes golf courses are closed until at least late November (!) At the cost of land on Hilton Head, having a golf course not producing income must mean some major damage.

Yea, that was me Simba's Mom. I felt pretty good about the info. I got yesterday from MS. The person who answered the phone went to talk to her Supervisor and put me on hold twice. She was gone a good while. She did not say when the resort would reopen, only that we would be able to checkin on Sunday. I will feel a whole lot better when they change the DVC website to reflect the actual opening date rather than saying that it would not reopen before the 27th. Just hoping we don't get a phone call Thursday or Friday that we are cancelled. We do have a little leeway in that we could postpone the trip by one week and I am sure the resort isn't booked up for that week. Problem is my son-in-law needed to tell the people at his work today if he is changing his plans. My daughter has really been looking forward to this trip a long time. She teaches year-round school and the next two weeks is the only time she could take off until end of January and they have no wish to go to HHI then.

Today's the day! The Hilton Head resort is open for business. Several CMs there reported it this morning, accompanied by a beautiful picture of the resort (not like I'm biased or anything)
