We have reservations for 7 of us the week of 07/17/04. We've have never been to HH before.

How soon do I need to book A Privat Affair? Should I book this when only one of our group likes seafood? Should I include the kids (11,13 and 17)?

What is the cost of bike rental for the length of stay?

Regarding Savannah: Has anyone taken a day trip to Savannah on a boat? If so, can you provide details? What, if any, tours would you recommend? What restaurant(s) can't be missed?

Any other tips would be welcome.

We just got back on Saturday from HH. The bikes are $25 for each of the first two and $10 for each additional for DVC members. So our family of five cost $80 + tax for the length of stay.

We love "A Private Affair" and have done it three times now. (I posted here yesterday about our trip). Chef Gordon is very accomodating to your needs, you do not need to have seafood if you do not want it. As for your kids, you can talk with him and decide, he will suggest what to do. A lot depends on what your kids will eat, and if it would be worthwhile to spend the money on them.

We did finally do a day trip to Savannah this year. The first thing you should do is go to the Visitors Center when you get to Savannah. The Disney front desk has directions to there. At the visitors center they can present you a number of options on tours. Savannah historic district is not very big, so we opted to do a walking tour. We know someone who did a riverboat dinner cruise a previous year, and they said it was just OK. I think to see all the squares and the beautiful buildings you would need to be on the streets, not on the water. We made reservations at Lady and Sons and really liked it. Lady (Paula Deen) and one of her sons was even there that day, and I hear that is not uncommon. She has her own cooking show on the Food Network. I have a lot more info on my recent post.
