I've never rented points before and my family is interested in going to either HHI or Vero sometime this summer after school gets out. We have 2 DS's (7 and 5-1/2) and a DD 2. Does someone have any advice or information for me about how to go about renting points at one of these resorts? Thank you.

Go to the Rent/Trade board--go back to Disney Vacation Club, and go down two boards ;) and check out the rentals there. You can rent from anyone, as long as you are within the 7 month window. Contact a few people, and arrange with them. It will cost you about $10 per point. Just make sure you rent from someone who has posted here alot--you will see the number of posts under the name of the poster. That will give you a little more security, since the owner retains the rights to the points right up until you check in. Renting involves trust, and nearly everyone is trustworthy, but you just want to make sure. And if you go to Vero this summer, you will absolutely love it! The pool is great, noodles are provided for the kids, and there's so much for your kids to do there! Mom's big job will be to figure out when to eat dinner

Renting at HHI at this point might not leave you many options, since that is prime season - but there may be someone who has a ressie they are selling. We went to HH over 4th of July a few years ago and it was a blast. We're going to VB this year - I just made a reservation there 2 weeks ago and there was availability - so if you really don't care - the points are cheaper there and you'd have a better shot at getting a room.

I actually would prefer VB because I could fit in a visit to my elderly grandparents in FLA. Why is it cheaper? Is it that people don't want to go to FLA in the summer or is the resort not as nice? What is my best shot at renting points - just posting on the rental board? Thanks for the advice.
