Is it still too cold for the beach in April? We are trying to figure out where to stop on the way home and thought this would work but maybe it would be too cold....

We were at HH the second week in April, 2010 and the ocean temp was 70. I think it was higher than normal. Pools are heated and air temps typically range from low 70s - low 80s.

HH MONTHLY AVERAGE AIR & OCEAN TEMPERATURES:

MONTH/AIR/OCEAN
January/59/52
February/61/54
March/67/59
April/76/67
May/82/75
June/86/82
July/89/84
August/89/84
September/84/80
October/77/73
November/69/63
December/61/54

Enjoy! :)

Spent the last week in March in HH last year. It was awesome! We spent a few days at the beach house, played on the beach and were able to walk into the ocean up to our knees. Wouldn't have even thought about going in any further, it was too cold. There was no problem at all swimming in the pools. Hope this helps!

We were there in March last year and were on the beach for three days. We had a blast. The water was chilly, but the kids still swam. I think it depends on your tolerance. We built some fun castles!

We were on HH a few years back the first week of April and it was too cold to swim in the ocean but fine in the pools. We wore shorts the whole time.

Thanks OP for posting this question......we are booked for April this year and were wondering the same thing!!

Can I ask how crowded the beach/pool is at this time of year....my only comparrison would be july!

We spent Spring Break at HHI in early April a couple of years ago. There we a couple of days that were warm enough to spend at the beach, but there we some other days that were fairly cool.

Our advice is to plan activities for warm and cool weather, and then be flexible to take advantage of the warm days.

Debs Hill we were there at the end of March in 2010. The resort was at full occupancy, but it was hard to tell. The pool did get a little crowded at times, but it wasn't uncomfortable at all. The beach house was never really crowded and the beach itself had few people on it. One CM I talked to said you might have a hard time finding a place to sit on the beach in July. At this time there was almost nobody on the beach at all. It was an awesome trip! Hope you enjoy yours!

That sounds perfect!! We loved our time at HHI in July....but it was very crowded at the pool, beach house and beach....no seats to be had by mid morning!! ha! Ha! We are from England so I'm sure it will be warm enough for us to brave the beach and presumably the pools are both heated!
Can't wait!
