HHI and Hurricane Erika

We are showing up to HHI on Sunday night. I sure hope the storm stays to the south. Has anyone ever been at one of the DVC resorts when a hurricane came through?

We also happened to be at WDW about 16 years ago when Hurricane Floyd was supposed to blow through Orlando. They shut down all the parks for a day (I think that was a first), but re-opened Animal Kingdom a bit later in the day and it was overrun with people. Luckily for us, it didn't do much damage, we just caught some high winds and a bit of rain. The moral of the story is to avoid the South Eastern Seaboard whenever we are coming to town.

Might make for an interesting beach vacation.

Our last trip to Hilton head, we felt the effects of a tropical storm. We had a boat excursion that had to be cut short due to the rough waters and rain. But rest of trip was great.
