Hello all,

I was wondering if anyone here thought that $325 RT for St. Louis to Savannah was high? What do you think is a good rate?

I'm really considering Charleston, Jacksonville and Atlanta at this point.

We are travelling the end of May this year.

Thanks in advance for your help.

That seems about right, NW flies direct from Det. to Sav. for about $300(or last time I checked the prices).

When we went to HH we flew into Jacksonville and drove up to Hilton Head (we got a Southwest Ding fare for around $100 round trip from Indy).

Seems to me that if you are going to fly 900 miles to Jacksonville and then turn around and drive 150 miles to HHI, that you might be better off driving from St. Louis. It's only 800 miles straight.

I am hoping to fly from Savannah to Minneapolis this Spring and fare is only $380 something. It sounds like a good deal.

Sounds a little high to me. We've flown from Evansville through Atlanta to Savannah, and I think it was under $300. We usually drive the 11 hours though.

Ok, just picked up 6 tickets via Delta to Savannah for $200 w/taxes included.

I'm a happy camper now...much better that $326/person.

Just hang in there and watch the deals daily and you'll find a good price.

Thanks airfarewatchdog and kayak.

OMG, y'all are making me so jealous. Airfare from here in Texas to Savannah is at least $500 per person. It's about the same to Charleston (I think a whopping $20 less). To Jacksonville, we're looking at $385 PP. DH's a frequent flier, but he doesn't have enough miles right now. So we're just sitting here with baited breath, hoping for FF availability after he takes a few more trips and gets the miles. $325 PP? Boy, does that sound great to me!

while you're waiting for that FF availability, go to kayak.com and have them watch your flight prices for you. They'll e-mail you once a fare goes below the price you set. The site does a VERY good job of that ( I got DC-Orlando for 129 round trip this way! )

Thanks so much. I just did that-I'd never heard of Kayak.com before. Goes to show what I've always said-it's amazing what you can learn here on the DIS.

We have yet to find decent airfare from Chicago, so have opted to make the drive...

We did once fly into Jacksonville for super cheap and drove to HH from there, and that was OK... but it sucked to fly then drive for 3 hours... and the return.. it really sucked. lol

So now it's our big summer road trip, and we love it!!
