Okay, I am on a mission to check out Hilton Head!!! Thinking of just jumping in the car say on 12/28 and going down until after NYE. So, has anyone been down this time of year, and does it book out way in advance. If we decided to do this, it wouldn't be until almost the end of November, do you think I would stand a chance!!! We would be getting a 2 br.

Do they have NYE festivities, and I know the weather is very iffy, but I really want to check it out!!!

I don't know but I'm going to find out. We will be there over this time frame, so if I see someone having an udderly good time, I'll know it's you.

We made reservations in July of 02 for Dec. 29 - Jan 2 or so. We had no problem getting a 1 BR at that time and I know that 2 BR units are more plentiful. We were stupid then and didn't take advantage of many activities that were being offered while we were there. But I do remember noticing childrens activities and teen activities planned for NYE. I don't recall any adult festivities being on the activity sheet, but I could be mistaken. At the time we had one child under 3; so we couldn't make any adult plans as there would be no where for him to go. We enjoyed our visit that holiday and planned another trip for the following October. We really love HH!

We've been to HH for the past two NYEs and have reservations for this year as well!

There are parties for the kids and teens. (Last year they were divided into three age categories.) But, there has never been any kind of adult activity. I guess I can't even begin to think of what they would have or where they would have it. (Unless Chef Gordon wanted to do a not-so-private affair!!)

We have always just made a "nice" dinner in our villa -- usually one of Chef Gordon's recipes -- have to stick with the theme, you know. And we have champagne at midnight to toast in the New Year. We go out on our porch and have seen many other guests doing exactly the same thing.

It's quiet and laid-back -- just like the HH resort itself! :p
