September 14 – 18: 2nd Annual Lt. Dan Weekend hosted by the Independence Fund to benefit severely injured veterans in Beaufort. Event includes a concert featuring Gary Sinise and the Lt Dan Band at Henry C. Chambers Waterfront Park on Saturday night. “The Conflict Zone” photo exhibit, a family 5K through historic downtown and a fully-supported bike ride for veterans. September 14: “HHSO Salute to the 2011-2012 Season- Be Our Guest” Shelter Cove Community Park. An evening of Pops music and a preview of pieces the Hilton Head Symphony Orchestra will be playing during the season. Park opens at 5:30 p.m.; concert starts at 7 p.m.

Thanks Doc. Wish we could get there for the Jason Marsalis Quartet or the Dixieland Jazz Society. I always look forward to your listing of events on HHI. I'm trusting you for info on the Piggly Wiggly Turkey Trot again-that was great last year! And I think DH might also be interested in the golf clinic at Palmetto Dunes.
