Is there anything at this resort that is magical i.e. fireworks, Disney characters, shows, etc... or is just for relaxation.

Since these resorts are located away from the magic (WDW), I didn't know if it is still Disney themed?

Particularly at HH there are a lot of "hidden Mickeys" about. I think because the resorts are away from the main parks the CMs at both resort work VERY hard to make sure there is plenty of "magic" around the resorts. There aren't any fireworks, at Vero there is a Sunday brunch that I believe has characters there. While they are away from WDW I never feel in any doubt that I'm staying at a Disney run hotel.

Well, I just called Vero and was told there's a character breakfast on Saturdays with Goofy. If the brunch was on Sunday, we would have tried to get there for it. On Saturday, we'll still be in Ohio.

In the summer at HH, on Tuesday nights from June - August, there are fireworks on a barge out from the resort. I think (I may be wrong) that these are sponsored by the Shelter Cove Merchants which is right by the Disney resort. The fireworks are wonderful! As far as "magic", there are Disney 'touches' everywhere, but they are not like those at WDW.

The Disney theming at Vero is very subtle. They have the character breakfast and they have Mickey touches. But, there is no Mickey running around all the time. They do sometimes have "characters" but they are people/actors -- a crazy maid, a butler who falls into the pool, a man who plays the guitar and sings sea shantys etc. I'm not even sure if they do that any more. The caring attitude of the CMs at Vero, however, surpasses anything I've seen at WDW.
