Not sure just what your point of reference is for Thanksgiving at Hilton Head, but I'll take a crack at answering you...
There are resort mugs. They are marked with the year. By Thanksgiving of last year, they had run out and were selling Brother Bear mugs, which were refillable until the end of 2003. On New Year's Day, the 2004 mugs were available. (Yes, we were here both for Thanksgiving and New Years, LOL!)
If you want to book Chef Gordon's "A Private Affair" you need to email him well in advance. I think someone posted on this board a while ago that he's already booked up around Thanksgiving, but you can always give it a try...his (NEW!) email address is
Hhichef@aol.com.
The resort does have a Thanksgiving dinner that can be delivered to your room. You can have either roast or deep-fried turkey, with all the sides. We've never done it, but I have heard that it's really pretty good! If you have a reservation at the resort for Thanksgiving, they will send you out a menu and a list of some of the activities about a month beforehand.
I think most of the resort activities are the same or similar to what you may have had in the past. But you never know! Look for that mailing in late October.
The past few years, Chef Gordon has done one of his "Longview Cooking Club" programs on the Saturday after Thanksgiving. Its usually held in the late afternoon. Don't know if he'll be doing that again this year or not. That probably won't be decided till shortly before Thanksgiving.
Hope this helped a little. We'll be back again this year, too!
