HH Refillable Mugs Good Forever?

At Hilton Head signals:

We were TOLD that we can get free refills if we bring the mugs back on future trips. Forever.

So I'm saving them in the closet.

Ah, this ought to be fun to sit back and watch the fur fly!

Refillable mugs is one of the DIS boards favorite topics with one group stating they bought and were told the mugs were good forever. Or even if they weren't told, the graphics on the mugs don't change so it's okay to bring them back.

Another group states that the mugs are clearly for that current trip only and anyone who keeps using them is cheating and stealing.

I posted on this topic once and felt like I had a Scud missile targeting system focused on my post.

Actually the mugs are changed from time to time...and no they are not usable forever. But I have a closet full of them and use them everyday.

The next time you go to HH, get ready to shell out the few dollars that they cost.

On a trip last year SSR didn't have any mugs available. They told us we could go over to OKW and buy one there. Well that is what we did. Of course the following morning we were stopped while getting coffee. The person working in AP noticed that they were OKW mugs and said we couldn't use them. Had to get a manager to straighten it all out. Funny thing is while we were being stopped a guy walked in with 5 AS mugs, filled them and walked right by the girl. Personally if the manager wasn't there in 5 minutes I would have just walked away with my filled mugs.

FWIW, the refillable mugs they were selling a few weeks ago had "2006" stamped on them.

You mean that's not how many refills you are allowed?

I have a paper cup that I purchased on my first trip in 1979 that I still use. It leaks a little bit but if I just fill it quickly and hold it up in the air over my mouth, it works just fine.
