We've never been to HH and we're headed down for a week in June (studio). I'm hoping that you all might have suggestions for a packing list that will be helpful for a HH vacation. I've noticed a few items that have been listed in other HH related posts...can you add to this list?

citranella candles
bug spay
sand toys
beach chairs/umbrella

What else?

A kite to take down to the beach. My family had a blast flying the kite when we were there. Not sure how much wind you will have in June, but you never know.

Enjoy your trip.:goodvibes

Night lights. The rooms can be very dark at night.

Teflon frying pan. They provide regular ones at the resort, but when we make omelets or scrambled eggs, we like to have a good one with the teflon coating.

Spatula or rubber scraper. The resort doesn't provide them.

Ziploc bags. We find all sorts of uses for them.

I second the idea of a kite. If you don't have one, there is a kite shop down in Coligny Plaza that sells easy fliers which are just that. Take a trip to the beach after 5 when most swimmers are gone and have a blast! We've never had a problem with lack of wind in the summertime, quite the opposite, so hold on tight to the string. :rolleyes1

My kids also enjoy bringing one of the little fish nets people have for fish tanks and attempting to catch the Fiddler Crabs when the tide is out at the resort. They sure are fast getting back into their little holes in an attempt not to be caught.

We also like to bring a fishing pole. Although they can be rented at the resort, we've found the last couple of years that bringing out own allows the kids many more days of fishing. I believe they are $5 per day to rent and if staying for a week, you could easily buy one for the cost of the daily rentals.

Have a fabulous trip! :cheer2:

Just subscribing. We are going the end of June and I am starting to figure out what we need to take.

You probably won't need a teflon skillet if you're in a studio. But you might want to bring some microwave-safe cookware! ;) Grilling tools and charcoal are another suggestion if you plan on cooking some meals. There are grills scattered throughout the resort.

If you plan on nighttime walks along the beach, be sure to cover the beam of your flashlight with red cellophane. The beam of the flashlight can confuse sea turtles who might be coming up to the beach to nest (or the babies who are trying to find their way back to the ocean).

We like to bring a tablecloth for the picnic table on the porch. (Not sure if there is a picnic table on a studio porch, though)

We always go in June. But this year we are going in August. Thunderstorms can arrive often at night so be flexable about your nighttime outside activities. We ended up going to pirate island mini golf(a must do) right when they open in the morning. It's a little cooler and not as crowded. Make sure you take bug spray for evening strolls and lots of sunscreen for your daytime activities. There is a Piggly Wiggly supermarket just up the road which was very convenient. Enjoy Hilton Head all you first timers! Just relax and enjoy good southern hospitality.

So, HH villas have picnic tables?

I know the 2BRs have picnic tables on the porches; not sure about the studios and 1BRs. There are also picnic tables scattered around the resort (located near the grills).

You guys are making me very homesick for Hilton Head!!!
