HH - new grocery opens next week

Kroger will be opening its new super store Wednesday, December 11, 2013 - about a month earlier than their earlier projection. The parking lot is full now each day with Kroger staff working to stock items and train for the opening next week.

At 87,588 sq ft. this store will be about twice the size of any other grocery on the island. It is about 1/2 mile from the DVC Resort. The Shelter Cove Towne Center is taking shape nicely.

Whole Foods will be going into the space formerly occupied by Piggly Wiggly which closed last month. Whole Foods expects to open in summer, 2014.

the Pig down by Coligny Plaza is still there. The Kroger came in and bought the entire al, and purposed a plan for lots of parks and things PLUS the coe, or the family or whoever probably lives here, anyway, any business it the way got mowed over . They'll do ok in the area, but not great as its only busy on shelter cove during tourist season.
Now Whole Foods is another story as that has the entire island talking. I'll probably shop bi lo, Publix and Wholefoods.
