HH in March - buggy?

Read somewhere that the coastal area where HH is located gets infested by small, biting insects at certain times of year (certain temps, actually -- they can't read a calendar).

We are planning a trip just after Easter week (4/7) and were wondering what to expect... anybody with experience? If we go and there is a problem, what is the best preventive/cure?

Also, what activities are recommended for this time of year? This is our first trip to HH in this season (and the first DVC stay!) and I would like to plan for a few things and not be unprepared...

When are the bugs the worst ? We have always gone the last week of MArch and never noticed a problem. This year we decided to go a little later so that the weather would be warmer. We're going to go the week of May 12. we love to have lunch on the balcony and were hoping to be able to enjoy the pool and the outdoor activities a little more this year. I was ecstatic when there was no problem getting this week. Could the bugs be the reason why ?
