How possible is it to get a Grand Villa @ 7 Months out in Hilton Head in the month of March? Normally, I always assume that GVs are off limit except at one's Home Resort, but I just wonder because I know that much of Hilton Head's traffic is focused on the three summer months...

With this in mind--I've also gotta ask for more info on transfering points... Is there ever a situation where someone would be willing to transfer enough points (259) to cover such a reservation? The rules on transfers--is it no more than one in or one out in a use year? How do people usually protect themselves against transfering points out in, let's say 2003, while they'd get points back in 2004? (I'll take a look at the Rental Board too... but I'm more curious about procedure.)

Thoughts? Comments? Ideas?

Based on visitation patterns and general availability of timeshares at HH, I would expect the first 2-3 weeks of March to be easy and latter March more difficult. Remember next year that Easter week is in March and that will push up the demand. I know I can usually get a 2 BR Marriott on demand with the above timetable in mind. There are currently units sitting in the bank at II through the third week of March at Marriott's Grande Ocean and Barony for 2 BR units but nothing for easter week.
