Our wait list came through for HH. This is our first trip to this Disney resort but we have been on the Island before. Does anyone have any suggestions for fun inexpensive things to do???

Thanks!
Nick

When will you be going? There are different things to do at different times of the year.

If it's during the summer, hanging out at the two pools or the beach is always an option.

Other things are shopping, shopping, and more shopping. (Oh wait, you said you wanted inexpensive things to do! ;)) Seriously, there are great shops all over the island (not just tourist traps, although there are enough of those too). There are outlets in Bluffton.

Go to Sea Pines one day and climb the lighthouse for a great view of the entire area. The Coastal Discovery Museum is a great idea.

I can't post links to websites yet, but hopefully you can find what I'm trying to steer you to for more general info about HH:

:ssst: Sitting on your porch relaxing ain't too bad, either!

There are a TON of things to do at HH.

At Sea Pines, you can walk the trails next the Lawton area where there are oyster mounds and visit the Plantation Ruins - remains of an old plantation. No cost at all and there is a self-guide tour at the ruins.

Besides the beach - also no cost - there are other historical sites in the area. You can visit the Coastal Discovery Museum for other suggestions.

The DVC resort has a number of very informative tours and options available.

Enjoy! HH is a great area to visit! :)

Some of our "free" offers were at the resort itself. I'm not sure if they are still offered but here goes - Goofy Bingo, campfire and smores, Ghost stories with Balou Crabbe, Bunny Hunt with Shadow, pool games. We love HHI!!!!

We are leaving Sunday and are very excited! Thanks!

We are thinking about bringing a kayak.

Take flashlights for an afterdark walk on the beach. We do this every trip. We see all kinds of cool critters!

My son and I did the nature kayak trip through disney and paid $50. We got to within 20' of dolphins, it was amazing. The adventure was only 2 hours and I thought next time I'd rent a kayak for the day.

I usually drive to HHI. But I once had to fly out on a family emergency and flew out of Savannah (SAV)

Just made a reservation this morning for Nov 19 & 20. Have never been before. We're looking forward to some lovely nature walks. I'm eager to hear what else we should take in. Will light jackets be enough in the evening?

What airport do you fly into? Do you know the pneumonics ie...(MCO)

You could also fly right into Hilton Head Airport, HHH. It is about 5 minutes from the resort. You will probably have to connect through Charlotte via US Air.

Went to HH this past February and the weather was perfect! The average low in Nov is 47 but if you are lucky a light jacket is all you will need!

Take the nature walk around the resort with a CM. It is not long but has a lot of neat info!

We are planning on going next Feb. It is nice but not swimming weather right ?
Guess it will be better than the 10 degree weather here in NY. :beach:

We were there mid Feb this year and it was ok to swim in the heated pool in the middle of the day but not sure if that is typical. It was shorts weather for most of the week - high 70's. We came home to snow.

To OP: Have a great trip!! We just got back this afternoon and had a wonderful time!!! We just love the HHI beach. Ocean temp was 80 degrees!!!!! There is so much to do at the resort and beach house we don't feel the need to make any day trips off the island. The cm's are fantastic and so much fun!!!

A kayak would be great. We saw kayakers all the time on Broad Creek right behind the resort. We saw dolphins right outside our balcony. I know there are so many more in all the waters around HHI you could get a good view with your kayak.

We just returned from another wonderful week at HHI. It is our family's favorite vacation.

Kayaks - We always talk about taking one and never do. There is an area where kayaks launch on property. They are controlled by another company and you can't use them unless you are on a guided tour.

Have a terrific week!

The End of March is our first visit. Any tips on the weathwer then and things to do? Will swimnming be ok?
