Can anyone recommend golf courses on or off island that would be good (and not terribly expensive) for my husband and I? He is not a beginner, but not an expert either and I just learned last summer. I know, GROAN all you good golfers - one of my friends tells me to stay off the MN courses when he is playing! :D

We'll be staying at HH (we're DVC owners) in mid-february.

I'm pretty sure I could find information on this on the boards, but the search option is disabled. Thanks for any help as I just realized out trip is fast approaching!!

Since you're going very much in the off-season, you can probably have your pick of courses at a fairly inexpensive rate and not worry about holding up other golfers.

BUT, you might want to try Hilton Head National

www.golfhiltonheadnational.com

They have a 9-hole course that my husband has taken both my son (a golf nut from age 8!) and daughter (the one and only time she ever played a "real" course) to.

You can also check out some of the specials in the Island Packet (the daily newspaper) while you're there.

Have fun!

I'd agree with check the papers and also the free booklets that are available at the local golfstores. These have the contact numbers for the proshops , descriptions of the courses and directs of how to get to the course. There are a lot of good courses in the area, try to pick one without too much water
