HH for NYE waitlist

We just got on the waitlist for Dec 28 to Jan 2 for a studio...
from what I am reading there is only 21 studios so I guess our luck is
down the drain??? Has anyone ever had much luck with HH during this
time of year??

This is pretty low season at HH... Maybe you will get lucky.

The resort is usually sold out for NYE and you're right -- with only 21 studios your chances are probably not very good.

I wouldn't give up, however. This far out, there may be a some people who think it would be a great idea (it is! ) but when it actually gets closer to the holidays they may change their minds.

We got a Grand Villa for Dec 23 thru Dec 27th. It can be done.

We have been there for NYE twice and both times it was at 7 months or less but we had a 2 bedroom. Now that we add on, we try to do it earlier, but it is a relatively slow time of year for that resort.

It's pretty quiet there for NYE, everyone is at DW. We have never had a problem with it being booked during this time, but we always stay in a 1 bedroom. There is still plenty of time for people to change their minds, good luck!

In past years, there have been parties for kids (broken out into different age groups) and some years, a family party. To the best of my knowledge, there has never been an adult-oriented party for NYE.

The resort itself is usually pretty quiet -- the parties are held in the common areas (indoor), like Community Hall, Big Murggie's Den, and the Beach House. When we've gone for NYE, we sent the kids to their age party and made dinner in our villa. We went out on the porch at midnight and wished other guests a Happy New Year; others around the resort were doing the same.

Have you checked the cash rates? It is cheap to stay there at that time- even without a discount. Good luck.

The resort was TOTALLY sold out last year from about December 24 through January 3 or 4th. NYE was jam packed and there were probably a couple hundred people up at midnight for the party around the pool with a "ball drop."

Wow!! Changed quite a bit!! There was no ball drop over the pool when we were there, only a kids party. Glad to see they are doing more, we were surprised that they didn't have more going on for NYE.

Oh what a cute idea! I wish they had done that the years we had gone for NYE.

Maybe we'll have to stay at the resort for NYE 2009.....
