I was thinking it would be really nice to try Hilton Head around Thanksgiving. Anyone go at that time? I think I remember reading somewhere that they have a great grocery store (Piggly Wiggly?), as well as the option to order in dinner to the villa.

Has anyone tried the latter option?

I have an image of HH at Thanksgiving. I would guess it the temperature and the leaves changing and the resort are very pretty at this time of year.

Is there anything else that they do to especially at Thanksgiving time or that might be useful to know for this vacation time? It looked like point value-wise, the actual Thanksgiving holiday falls under "choice" season, rather than shooting up to a higher range as the WDW resorts do.

HH at Thanksgiving is awesome! We're headed there this year again!

I always cook a short-cut homemade turkey dinner. It's kind of become our tradition. But I have to tell you, the smell of the deep-frying turkeys at the resort is almost impossible to resist! (They also have regular roast turkey.) I've heard raves about the food; the only complaint is that there is an awful lot for most families! Piggly Wiggly is not my favorite grocery store, but it is definitely the closest to the resort. I think just about all of the grocery stores there will do a turkey dinner; you just have to pick it up (usually the day before, I think) and re-heat it.

There was a listing on ebay for a whole week at DHHIR over Thanksgiving, if anyone hasn't made their reservations yet! ;)

The temperatures the times we have gone there have ranged from highs around 50º to highs in the 80s! The resort is beautiful -- actually I like it any time of the year! :Pinkbounc

Hi Everyone,

My family and I will be spending the Thanksgiving Holiday at HH also. We will be arriving on Wednesday, and leaving on Sunday.

We will actually be having Thanksgiving Dinner with my son who lives in Augusta, Ga. By the sound of it, it might have been better to have Thanksgiving at the resort. Oh well, time will tell.

For you repeat returnee's, what are the recreation or special events that Disney holds during this time of year.

Hope to see you all soon.

And don't forget to wear your lime green

KennyK
