Hgvc orlando conversion to dvc points?

Hi all. I have what I hope is a simple question: Can an owner of HGVC in Orlando (any property) exchange points into DVC or will it be blocked due to proximity rules? Any help would be appreciated!

Yes, there is a general block on most Orlando trades. DVC exchanges thru RCI, so any opportunity would have to go thru that system unless you can privately manage a direct trade with a DVC owner.

I had read somewhere on these boards that because HGVC had a corporate relationship with DVC, the block was not vaild...but it appears that is incorrect.

Joey,

HGVC is a points based system. HGVC has a corporate account with RCI. There is no regional block between HGVC and RCI. Yes, you deposit HGVC points into RCI and yes, you can trade into all the DVC resorts.
