Hey! You had your trip, this time I'm in charge! Nicki & Todd LIVE!! Completed :(

Glad you liked Kouzzina. We have eaten there a few times and ALWAYS liked it!
Isn't that Sangria just so good. I am not a huge fan of red wine, but we get the Sangria most of the time! It is awesome.
Your appetizer plate looks delish! Might be something that could go on my list! :rotfl2:
It's a shame about the Greek donuts as they usually are served slightly warm and are not hard at all, but rather soft and chewy. You must have gotten an "old" batch. Shame, shame, shame!!!!!

Sleep well, I will do all my chores in the meantime and be waiting here when you return. :goodvibes

Great Reviews!!! Love the detail you put into them. Oh and Happy Belated Birthday!

Hi Nicki Glad you and Todd enjoyed your Birthday treat and yes I'm sorry I couldn't be there to enjoy it with you. Loving your reviews so far. I've always meant to try Kouzzina, but the cinnamon factor always scares me away. I only want cinnamon in my desert, not in my main dish. I'm concerned, I have seen sushi pictures yet, come on suck it up and try some, you will love it!!

Good Morning Nicki & Todd!

Looks like you guys had a very nice afternoon/evening yesterday. That smores cupcake looks heavenly. So soft and moist. I always want to try cupcakes while down there but am never hungry enough to ever try one. Maybe some day.

Your dinners at Kouzzina looked good. We have never eaten there since it changed from Spoodles. I would like to try that Sangria though. Heard lots of good comments on it.

Well, can't wait to see what you guys are up to today! Have a great one. :goodvibes

Hey there Nicki
Firstly Happy Birthday as I dont think I ever said it :)
Right onto the food!!
What a glorious and yummy day :)
The Wave breakfast is something I would love to try, it looks fab
I love the look of your dinner in Kouzinna - another one to add to a very long list !!!

I THOUGHT YOU WEREN'T GOING LIVE!!!! Now I'm over twenty pages behind.....:scared1::lmao: Well, at least it gives me something fun to do while I'm in bed sick! :thumbsup2

Sounds like such a great first day! You have definitely sold me on The Wave for breakfast. It is perfect for us as DS and I love a good buffet and DH absolutely hates all buffets so he can order off the menu.

I am glad we tried Kouzzina for breakfast rather than dinner. I am not a fan of "sweet" food (like the cinnamon) so the menu really doesn't appeal to me. But breakfast was tasty for us. Hopefully you try it later in your trip.

Really looking forward to see what Todd picks for today! :goodvibes

...and I'm back! What a following you have! :goodvibes Beautiful birthday gifts from Karin and Tom and Jane. How thoughtful of her to remember exactly the bottle you like. The Nicki/Todd banter is cracking me up, as always!

Your meal at Il Mulino looked really good. Love escarole. The pizza..eh. Crust looked a bit thin and hard, even for me.

Can you blame Todd for not passing up a good egg roll? :lmao: Personally, I LOVE them.

I feel for you with the lactose intolerance situation. Not sure I'd have your discipline. Aren't there quite a few cheeses that don't have lactose in them? Like the harder cheeses?

The Wave looks great. Might have tried it, had I not finally taken your advice and moved us to the POLY! Looking at all the pictures, I'm now wondering what I was ever thinking. :rotfl:

Love your reviews, as always! :goodvibes

Hi Nicki,
I'm really enjoying your reviews!! I read on another review about the CM with the dragon breath at Kouzzinas. That's enough to ruin you appetite!! I go to a Greek fair every year specifically to get the loukoumades. They're delicious here. They are soft, with honey and cinnamon on them, and chopped nuts sprinkled on top if you want them. I'm sorry you didn't get to taste the real loukoumades. Sounds like you're having a great trip. Have fun today!!
Joan

I'm already so far behind & it's only been a day and a 1/2! :lmao:

Awesome, yummy reviews so far! The breakfast at The Wave looks delish & makes me wish I had added that to our list of ADR's for January. Although I suppose it's not too late :scratchin

Too many good choices in WDW! I guess I will just have to wait until the end of your trip to decide on any changes ;)

So glad you guys are having a great time! Can't wait to read more!

Yeah!!! Love all the updates and especially got the Wave buffet...gotta try that now! So question how come Mr Todd isn't huge with all of his snacking??? Does he have a tapeworm? I snack just a little and my butt doubles in size overnight! You're a spoiled gal Ms Nicki...and from the looks of all the gifts well loved! Glad you are having a great birthday trip!
M

Thanks for the review on The Wave. DH and I are are scheduled to eat there in November and I was wondering what the buffet offered. It looks great! Happy Birthday, enjoy the rest of your trip.

I'm all caught up! I was MIA because I was in Disney just before you celebrating my birthday too (my 38th but only my DH is counting because he's younger than me...by 5 months.) Glad to see you are having a good time and love the reviews! Enjoy and happy belated birthday!!

Nicki..if you have any Greek festivals by you, go and try the fresh loukamades there. We have a couple of Greek churches around us that every summer have their festivals. Fresh ones are to die for! They looked good in the picture, sorry they weren't that good..probably made too far ahead of time.

Pshh I missed a lot from the time I left job #1... since job #2, the grocery store and making my dinner you've updated your whole day!!

Yay for yummy and very thoughtful gifts!! You've sold me on the Wave, and I'm going to make a ressie there tonight after I'm done here!! It looks great for us!!

Have a great night!!

Sounds like you are working your tail off! The gifts were so incredible and yummy too! The Wave was excellent, you will love it!

Hi Nicki- been following you for quite awhile but have never posted, I'm a "NS" (nicki stalker) :). My question is about the wave buffet: when you make an ADR do you have to specify the buffet or off the menu or can you decide when you get there? Also do you mind me asking how much the buffet cost?

Thank you, Michele

Love that you are "chatting" and not stalking :lmao: The buffet is $19 and that includes juice, coffee, tea or soda. It was excellent! You can order off the menu or order the buffet.

Nikki I saw your food pix on the Food Porn and it looks every bit as good over here !!!:thumbsup2:rotfl2:

Thanks Rosie!

Glad you got to try some of our favorite things today! The icing really makes the S'mores cupcake, sorry you couldn't try it :( That's where the marshmallow and graham cracker part of the S'mores comes in, otherwise it's just a basic chocolate cupcake.

It was nice to see what you got at Kouzzina! I also had the sangria and I agree, it was really good. The pork looks great too! Sorry about the doughnuts though - when we had them they were super soft and delicious, sounds like you just got a bad batch. Still, they should be more consistent.

The cake part was good and Todd said the topper was good too! Love love love the sangria from Kouzzina, I have to see if I can get it at the pizza take out window!

Loving the reviews so far! You're helping me decide what new places to try next trip, like The Wave! :)

Thanks and you will love The Wave!

So glad you liked the Wave!

The cupcakes at the Boardwalk look fantastic, and I'm sure the pumpkin one would've been my favorite too.

Breakfast was the best, thanks for recommending it!

Yum! Ur Wave breakfast looks awesome!!!:thumbsup2 The lime eggs ben look soo good! So does pretty much everything else you posted today, lol!!:lmao: I have liked ESPN in the past, but more for total junk food like nachos. U'd think that would be the place for wings. :confused3 Oh well. Cheers to that Rosa!!! :woohoo:A favorite of ours too!!!

The breakfast was great and if I could eat the cheese I would have ordered the nachos, I love those!

Happy belated birthday! I hope you have an amazing trip!!! As always, I'm enjoying every minute of your trip report!

Thanks and I am glad you are enjoying it!

Oooh The Wave breakfast buffet is now going on to my list to try!

I didn't like Kouzzina too much when I first went shortly after it opened. I've been toying with the idea of giving it another try one day, but it seems they only worked out some of the kinks from your review. Guess it will stay at the bottom of the list....I'd rather try somewhere like The Wave first.

I can't believe AK was so crowded....that's weird for this time of year! It did have Morning EMH and TouringPlans had it as the park to avoid...but still....a 20 min wait for the FASTPASS?!?!?!

What lovely Dis friends you have! I can't believe the generous gifts....and two in one day! We're just all so entranced by your food porn and tales of Todd the Stomach!

Abby, you have to try the Wave, yummy! The goal is to try Kouzzina for breakfast too, wonder if I can get sangria for breakfast? Wait until I tell you about the crowds today!

The gifts were so thoughtful, I have made such great friends on the Dis!

Glad you liked Kouzzina. We have eaten there a few times and ALWAYS liked it!
Isn't that Sangria just so good. I am not a huge fan of red wine, but we get the Sangria most of the time! It is awesome.

Sleep well, I will do all my chores in the meantime and be waiting here when you return. :goodvibes

Karin, you guys were so right about Kouzzina, we really enjoyed it! I am so exhausted and its only the second full day :goodvibes

Great Reviews!!! Love the detail you put into them. Oh and Happy Belated Birthday!

Thank you!

Hi Nicki Glad you and Todd enjoyed your Birthday treat and yes I'm sorry I couldn't be there to enjoy it with you. Loving your reviews so far. We toasted you as we drank our treat! We feel the same way as you, keep the sweet flavors out of the foods unless it is dessert! Sushi, well we still have 8 days left :rotfl2:

Good Morning Nicki & Todd!

Hi there! The cupcakes are the best and they are huge and the price is so worth it! The sangria is reason enough to eat at Kouzzina

Hey there Nicki
Firstly Happy Birthday as I dont think I ever said it :)
Right onto the food!!

The Wave breakfast is something I would love to try, it looks fab
I love the look of your dinner in Kouzinna - another one to add to a very long list !!!

Hi Linda! Thanks for the b-day wishes! Ok for your next trip you have to eat at both places!

I THOUGHT YOU WEREN'T GOING LIVE!!!! Now I'm over twenty pages behind.....:scared1::lmao: Well, at least it gives me something fun to do while I'm in bed sick! :thumbsup2

Hi Tina, since they have free wireless at the deluxe resorts we decided to go live! I'm so sorry you are sick, hope you feel better soon!

Sounds like such a great first day! You have definitely sold me on The Wave for breakfast. It is perfect for us as DS and I love a good buffet and DH absolutely hates all buffets so he can order off the menu.

The Wave was excellent, I would love to go back there but it fills you up for the entire day! Hope to get to Kouzzina for breakfast too, the new menu looks great!

...and I'm back! What a following you have! :goodvibes Beautiful birthday gifts from Karin and Tom and Jane. How thoughtful of her to remember exactly the bottle you like. The Nicki/Todd banter is cracking me up, as always!

Wonderful gifts from great friends! Now you met us so you know the banter is dead on! :lmao:

Your meal at Il Mulino looked really good. Love escarole. The pizza..eh. Crust looked a bit thin and hard, even for me.

Even if I could eat cheese I would not have wanted that pizza

Can you blame Todd for not passing up a good egg roll? :lmao: Personally, I LOVE them.

No I cannot blame him at all :rotfl2:

I feel for you with the lactose intolerance situation. Not sure I'd have your discipline. Aren't there quite a few cheeses that don't have lactose in them? Like the harder cheeses?

Yes I can eat swiss cheese without a problem but so far that is it..one bite with the Lactaid is good enough for me though

The Wave looks great. Might have tried it, had I not finally taken your advice and moved us to the POLY! Looking at all the pictures, I'm now wondering what I was ever thinking. :rotfl:

OMG that is awesome, the Poly! You will totally love it!

Love your reviews, as always! :goodvibes

Thanks babe!

Joan

Hi Joan...oh man, I wish I had a mint to offer him! THey were cranking out so many orders of the loukoumades that I thought they would have been fresher and seeing how we never had them before we didnt know what to expect

I'm already so far behind & it's only been a day and a 1/2! :lmao:

Awesome, yummy reviews so far! The breakfast at The Wave looks delish & makes me wish I had added that to our list of ADR's for January. Although I suppose it's not too late :scratchin

No worries, you have plenty of time to catch up! So far not one horrible meal, thank goodness!

M

We did 2 walk ins in less than 12 hours, that was very cool! My hubbykins has a baby belly on him but the rest of him is thin....while mine goes right to the thighs! This trip is great and I cannot believe we have 8 days left! or is it 7?

Thanks for the review on The Wave. DH and I are are scheduled to eat there in November and I was wondering what the buffet offered. It looks great! Happy Birthday, enjoy the rest of your trip.

Well happy b-day to you WDW sister! And Todd is younger than me by 5 months too, how funny!

We do have one in Naples in January, might have to check it out

Hi everyone! Sorry for the lack of updates today so lets get started! The goal was to get up early and go to HS, we did that but arrived a bit later than 8am, got there around 8:30.

While we were getting dressed I started to wonder about breakfast

Me - What do you want to eat, BWI Bakery or something from HS?

Todd - I want a pretzel, a good one this time

Me - Ok you can have that but what about for breakfast?

Todd - A pretzel

Oy!

I did bring some Fiber One bars so we brought those with us and some water, made the coffee in the room and it was ok. The weather was still cool but was warmed up to 77 around 11am

Toy Story FP at 8:45 am had a return time for 3-4pm. As we were heading to Writers Stop for coffee I lost him.

Me - Where are you going?

Todd - To get a pretzel

Me - Its 9am, there are no pretzels out yet

Todd - You dont know that, there is a stand by the hat

Me - Ok fine but lets wait until they put them out

Todd - Nah, they have em

And son of a gun if they dont have them :headache: And so my husband
devoured the breakfast of his dreams, a freakin pretzel ;)

I wasnt hungry but as we were walking to ToT and R&R we noticed huge lines for the breakfast sandwiches by ToT and Starring Rolls had lines out the door.

The park was getting really nuts and we didnt like anything for lunch so DH decided it was a good time to go to DTD, there couldnt be any crowds there right?

Boy am I late to the party! :dance3:

Nicki your reviews are the best! :thumbsup2

A belated Happy Birthday! Cant think of a better place to spend it than at WDW!!!

The last thing we did before leaving HS is use our FP for R&R, the first time we rode it was very smooth but the second time was very rough and I was banged around alot and had an instant headache and was feeling nauseated. Todd suggested lunch, that might make me feel better...who are you kidding, that is going to make you feel better!

We rode the boat to The Swan and got off there to catch the bus...big mistake...the lobby reeked like old ladies perfume so I made a made dash for the buses. We got on one and it took us to the Dolphin, YC, BC and then BWI...this took 30 minutes! The entire time I was car sick.

Finally we make it to DTD and get off at the first stop...all I wanted was a Coke with Excedrin and I started to feel a bit better.

Todd - What do you want for lunch

Me - Dont care, you pick

Todd - I think you need to sit and relax

Me - Fine, you pick

Todd - T-Rex? Fultons

Me - Hello? Dont care, you pick...you know DTD as well as I do so whatever you pick will be fine, I promise I wont complain

Todd - Willing to put that in writing?

Me - Do you want me to headbut you in the knee caps??

As we passed WPE there was a line out the door and EoS looked jammed too...glad we skipped CS

We made our way through the huge crowds and checked out menus at T-Rex - bar food, Fultons - nah, Portobellos - maybe, Paradiso 37 - yuck, Bongos ok that looks good. Until we opened the door and the overwhelming scent of burning incense had me turning green. Todd took one look at me and pulled me out of there...OMG it stunk so badly!

THere are just 2 choices left, WPCafe or HoB...or a third choice, head back the other way. We flipped a coin, heads for HoB and tails for WPC...heads won

We have been to HoB many times because our friends love it but DH remembered it as being very loud and doesnt like that but it was very quiet in there today, nice and dark and cool too.

The menu isnt what I remembered it to be and nothing really jumped out at me so I told Todd to order 2 things that we both like and we will share. He opted for the shrimp po boy and BBQ beef sandwich. The menu says bleu cheese cole slaw but they have regular too, just ask for it.

DH loves sliced BBQ beef and this was shredded (we asked for the cheddar cheese to be left off of it) and he didnt care for it so I ate most of it, I really enjoyed it and the fries were hot and crispy

Oct22004.jpg

The shrimp po boy was huge and filled with shrimp. Todd ate most of this because I took over the BBQ beef. The bread was hard and the tartar sauce had a nice kick to it.

Oct22005.jpg

Would I go back again? Yes, the food was great, the service was great and it was a nice cool place to relax.
