Hey, Would-ja like to go to Florida? You Becha! Done #168! 5-26-09

Great trip report, so far... I can't wait to read more!!! I am not going to WDW this year (was suppose too) My son wants to see Criss Angel, so we are headed to Las Vegas... So I need my Disney fix...
I won't be returning till April 2011, unless my dh has another convention in Orlando. The other wife kept bragging about all the other places the convention was held, so I know it will be somewhere, just don't know where yet. Thanks for reading.

Great Pics. :thumbsup2 I am beginning to read your TR still behind there is only so much I can read while am at work :rotfl2: I love your snow I have never seen snow I live in Houston. You probably tired of it by now do you wanna switch :rotfl: I'm in want to hear more.
I'll switch anyday. My Goddaughter just moved north of Houston and we want to visit her. The snow gets to you after awhile, but like I said, you just get indifferent towards it, and just continue on.
Thanks for reading, I sneak in during work hours too.

My last post had us leaving the
Magic Kingdom around 12:30 a.m.
I truly wanted to stay till 2, 3 in the morning,
but I was tired and I knew we were getting
up early in the morning to go to Epcot.

Anyone else think the balloons on the
Mono-rail and busses are ugly?

We made our way out of the MK
by taking the mono-rail back to TTC.
We thought about taking the resort mono-rail back,
but when you are tired and not watching where you
are going, we walked up the wrong ramp, which
was fine, it still got us to our rental car. The parking
lot was eerily empty, and no trams were running this late at nite.
It was a short walk anyways,
since we were over in front of the Poly parking lot.

I dug out my reading glasses, since I knew I would be navigator again.
We knew to get on I4 and get off at the Sea World exit.
Our hotel was about a mile off the exit.
I was searching for our hotel and expecting it to
be on the side of the road, sort of like the hotels across
the street from Downtown Disney.

We didn’t expect it to be a “gated resort”, lol.
Luckily, there were no gates, but it was called
Great Lakes Resorts Area.
We actually drove by it twice without realizing
we needed to turn into the area.
I re-read our directions again,
I just kept looking for The Ritz/Carlton,
not The Grande Lakes Resorts Area, Ritz/Carlton.

The place was still buzzing at 1 in the morning.
Valet had to park our car.
We took our own luggage out and checked in.
10th floor.
It was dark outside, and I really didn’t see how
large the place was.

Our check-in person walked us to the elevator,
And we made our way up to our rooms.
Wow, I think the bathroom room, was larger
than my dd’s dorm room.

I unpacked and hung up a lot of our clothes,

When I read the word Ritz on my dh itinerary,
I just about cringed at home.
We are definately noto Ritz people
anyone see that Red Neck picture I posted
with our appliances on our back deck?
I managed to pull together some good outfits,
found a fair amount of good clothes in my dh closet
that he only wears once and never again.

DH finally gets out of the bathroom and he
zonkes out and I watched tv till 3:00 a.m.
I think I finally fall asleep around 3:30 a.m.
was back up at 6:30 a.m.

I went to our patio doors in the morning,
and though I was looking East,
But we were looking South,
ry%3D400

I am notorious for loosing my sense of direction.
I could see DownTown Disney
ry%3D400

Just barely.

Thanks for the latest installment!!!

I actually like the balloons on the disney buses and monorail. I don't know - made them look very Disney! JMO, though. ;)

Looking forward to the next addition - loving your TR.

We rented a little "butt-ugly" once a few years ago. I did like that the doors automatically locked once you started down the road (maybe when it switched out of first gear).

I hope you took some pictures of that "Ritz-y" room of yours! :rotfl: I would love to stay there, but I don't know if I would during a Disney vacation, you know? My mind is just on casual at Disney, if that makes sense.

No way could I go on 3 1/2 hours of sleep...

ETA: Ok, I just had to look up the Ritz for fun--do you know it was only $30 more a night than at Coronado Springs when we're going???? Of course, I did get a 40% off code, so no I won't switch. lol

It took me awhile to figure out it was the new slogan for "what will you celebrate". I forgot to mention, I was missing the "Dreams Come True Celebration". When I went to WDW the last 2 times, it sort of was exciting to think you could see a Dream Team and maybe win something.

I think the economy is really hurting down there, more than we know, especially off site. I saw our room was $260 a nite for a King size bed. I just added 2 pictures to my previous post. I just realized I didn't load all my pictures to Shutterfly, so I'll be adding more pictures of our room. Sorry, I didn't walk in the bathroom.

I'm used to going 2 nites without to much sleep, it usually takes me till the 3rd nite to finally sleep.

Hi there! I just found your report and am on board!:goodvibes
Thanks for joining my TR.

I was there for two years of the YOMD, and I never saw the Dream Team. I guess I wasn't in the right place at the right time! :confused3

Ahh,
I had a lot of close encounters, and saw many others win.
We finally won, when we did something out of the ordinary.
Early in the morning, when we were at AK, after the Safari
and visiting the ghorilla's, we went to the Comfort Station.
When we were done, not petting anything, we left, and the Dream team
was waiting in the pathway, before you get back on the train.
We won FastPasses.
I ended up making my dh sick,
because we rode to many rides in a row.
I was still thrilled to win something though.
I won 2 Mickey Ears
and 2 laynard with pins when I entered through the mail.
I ended up mailing those to DIS members that wanted them.

I'm so jealous! I would have been thrilled to have won anything at all, especially those lanyards with pins.

My DNiece (11) won a dream meet and greet with the Disney princesses (b/c everyone had on matching shirts, they got noticed) and SHE TURNED THEM DOWN! This was in December right before YOMD ended. She said she didn't like the princesses. Who cares? I'd have gone anyway and got some amazing pictures. I mean that was a once in a lifetime thing and she turned them down. The CM didn't know what to think!

I've seen some of those pictures when other's have won that prize, it looks really great. Leave it to a little one to say no. My dh just told me the other day, we should adopt a boy or girl around 9-11 years old. He said it is a great age, because they are not babies or little one's anymore, or teenagers, they are "know it all's" :rotfl:. I told him, we would have to adopt 2, since one would be to lonely. We said in our marriage vows we wanted 6 kids, so who knows, maybe we really should look into it.

You really should do that, if you want. I know there are lots of older foster children who need good homes. My DH would never go for it, but I'd love to open up my home to children who need loving families.

I was suppose to go Universal Studios today,
But my dh didn’t have to check into
The Ameriquest convention till 3:00 p.m.
or I should say, his first meeting was at 3:00 p.m.
He had all morning to check into his convention
which he did, while we waited for our rental.
He likes Epcot, so Epcot it was.

This morning, he saw he had an e-mail
from his co-worker,
neither one wanted to go to Epcot,
they were going to just sit around the pool
and check into the convention early.
There was a Wife’s meeting at 1:00 p.m.
(no way Jose’) I didn’t need to know
when the shuttle bus was going to the mall.

I made sure I grabbed my camera,
Baggalini,
Water,
Meds for my stomache,
wasn’t feeling to hot this morning,
I think it had to do with lack of sleep and ice cream for supper.
We waited 15 minutes for Valet to bring our car.
I told dh to call down,
he likes to wait around and take a smoke break.

This was shocking,
I thought we would be in a traffic jam,
going past Sea World and Discovery Cove.
No traffic, none, nada, nothing.
We were on I-4 in a minute and
cruising on down the highway.
Got off on the Epcot Exit and sailed
on in to the Epcot Parking Lot.
Time 8:45 a.m.
Front row parking again,
In the Yellow section, by the CM entrance.
And $12 poorer.

I just love the way you talk! It makes the TR so enjoyable to read!
I apologize,
I usually have a problem expressing what I want to write.
I know in my head what I want to say,
but I have a hard time getting it written down.
I was told, it is a form of dyslexia.
I usually write it in a word document,
then proof it a few times, before I submit it.
So, I just try to be short and to the point.

Hi! :) Just found your trip report and thought I would say hello. (trying to be less of a lurker!) I am really enjoying your writing, looking forward to more.

My TR was long and drawn out! Probably took forever to read.

But I like your style and I like your personality, too! You seem down to earth and loads of fun!

Thanks,
I just told my 4 kids,
they all have to go on a date
by May 1,
if they accomplish the goal,
I'll give them each $50.
My oldest wanted to know if he goes
on 2 will I give him $100.
They are all too independent,
like my dh said, I really think we should look into adoption.
It will be 10 years before we will see any grandkids.

I followed your link from the J&K thread. Great report so far! We had a bad winter in MI as well and I'm so ready for this warmer weather!!

I'm like you, it takes me forever to fall asleep that first night. Your resort looks really nice. I'm surprised at the (lack of) crowds so far.

:rotfl: too funny!

OMG - I haven't enjoyed myself reading a TR so much in a long time!! You have the most wonderful sense of humor :lmao: You are just like I am - I love to stay late at the parks and love ice cream for dinner ;)

Can't wait to read all about your Epcot day (btw what's with that other couple? :confused3 Wanting to chill at the hotel rather than seeing WDW? I would jump at any chance esp if you were going too!!)
