I checked a month ago, and firworks were scheduled for every night we are to be at DL. I just checked to see if any changes have been made, and they no longer list fireworks. But the park closing time has changed, it was 9 PM every night, now it's 10 PM every night.

Our dates are Apr. 24-28, we get in Monday morning and leave Friday morning. Do you think they'll add the firworks back into the schedule? I'd like to see them at least once, and changing the dates of our trip isn't an option.

I just took a look for one of your dates and it said "Information not available at this time", which to me means they're updating it or something. Generally, if they were listed before, they'll probably be back. (My guess is they're putting in other parts of the entertainment schedule).

Yes, I'd say they will have the fireworks. Disney is pretty bad about monkeying with their website schedules, then not quickly updating other parts of it to match the changes. I can't imagine they'd not have the fireworks, unless bad weather interferes.

Of course, I'm basing what I'm saying on the way they do things at WDW, where weather probably interferes with fireworks schedules than in SoCal.

I've been checking the dates for April 27th-30th for about a month now and they've consistently shown the fireworks to only be done on the weekends. I've never checked for the 24-26th, but on the 27th specifically there weren't supposed to be fireworks. And the park has been scheduled to be open until 10pm since I started looking as well. (Midnight on the weekends.)

Perhaps you looked at the schedule just before I started or something. DDs birthday is the 27th and I was hoping there would be fireworks on her actual birthday, but no luck. Here's some pixie dust hoping they change it back for you. pixiedust:

We are going April 23-27. We were going April 24th but at the last minute I checked the calender on the Disneyland web site and noticed that there wasn't any of the usual entertainment scheduled so I called Disneyland and asked them. Their response was that "value season" kicks in April 24th until the start of summer and the 'entertainment i.e. fireworks, etc' will only be on the weekends until then. Great news, eh? Needless to say we aren't too thrilled but were able to at least go a day earlier so we can catch some of the stuff on Sunday. What a bummer! You wouldn't think it would kill DL to continue to do their usual stuff during the duration of their 50th.
Thought I'd pass their response along......

In terms of nightly fireworks, the real problem lies with the Southern California Air Quality Management District and the Anaheim residents. It's a really complicated formula in which DL "earns" and "Spends" "Credits". That's based on shooting off the fireworks (spending credits) and doing other things to improve air quiality (to earn credits)

We are going those same days and I have noticed the exact same thing when checking the calender over the past few weeks! I really don't think it is fair if they don't end up having the fireworks on those days. We only go to DL once every couple years (from Michigan) and when planning and booking our trip I took what the calender on the DL website said into consideration. I would have gone different days if I had known that we would miss the fireworks. I have sent an email through the DL website asking about this (a few days ago) but have not heard anything. I think I might call.

Oh, great. I understand they don't want to set off firworks EVERY night, that's expensive and I know they've got issues with Orange County about noise and polution, but couldn't they have them one or two weeknights for those that aren't at DL over the weekend? DH already thinks DL is going to be "lame", this isn't going to help matters any. I hope they change their minds and adds at least 1 weeknight display.

We can't change our dates, the airline tickets are locked in and it would cost at least $200 to change, and anyway it would screw up our dog care arrangements big time.

Thanks for the info, Kathy!

I feel the same way! We've already made all the arrangements, got work and school off, plane tickets, etc. UGH!
