I've been planning, planning and planning our first family trip to WDW this May for my twins' 4th bday. flights booked, Disboards, EMH, hotels books, disboards, character dining set, etc.

It's so close to my boys' bday that I barely realized we arrive on Mother's Day.
I've spent so much time looking into character dining and shows I havent spent any time looking at many non-character TS.

Any recommendations for dear old Mom at Epcot?

do you have to be in epcot, or is the boardwalk area ok with you? and will you have the kiddos with you? how do they do with restaraunts? are they the kind of kids who can sit thru a longer meal or are they the go-go-go type?

there are lots of great options for you in that area, most of the ones i'd suggest are pretty adult tho and might be ones for a mom & dad night out, like flying fish or bluezoo.

if the kiddos are coming and they don't like to sit quietly thru a long meal (and what set of 4 yo twins does?) then you might want to look at something like cape may clam bake at the beach club or san angel inn or coral reef in epcot.

i don't think we did the signature type meals with ds til he was about 7 or 8. there were lots of fun places that were easier for him to sit thru that we still enjoyed. now he's 22. we're doing california grill for mother's day.

if you could give us all some more info on who's going and what you like, we can probably give you better suggestions.

I think EPCOT has a lot of great TS options:goodvibes I really like Chefs de France.

At Epcot there is so much to choose from. Le Cellier at the Canadian Pavillion is a nice steak place but hard to get ressies. Tutto Italia at the Italian Pavillion is a nice Italian restuarant. Les Chefs de France is also a nice upscale dining experience. A little bit more on the fun side is the Biergarten in Germany. Very family friendly, a buffet of German food, and an German Ompa Band for entertainment.

There is also the Coral Reef restaurant at the Living Seas Pavillion where you can dine next to aquarium and watch all the fish swim by as you dine.

I guess any TS at Epcot would do as well as the other. The thing is you get to choose as it's your special day. I've had nice Mother's Day experiences at Boma and the Tusker House, but they aren't in Epcot.

Have a great Mom's Day either way.

:)

I agree with this....Chefs is a great place to eat. We will be there on Mother's Day too and we are doing to dinner at Narcoossee's (a Signature restaurant). My girls and I are also going to the Afternoon Tea at the Grand Floridian. Have a great trip and have a wonderful Mother's Day :goodvibes

There are a lot of choices and GREAT ones at Epcot, my concern is that you havent booked anything as of yet! I have been trying to change my restaurant choices (here and there) for that week, :surfweb: we are going 5/6-5/13 and there is NOTHING available except REALLY EARLY or REALLY LATE!
So, I really hope you do find something, even though I personally have NEVER had a bad meal (TS) at Disney! EVER!! :)
Happy Mothers Day!! Maybe well see ya there!

Agree that getting an ADR at all may be the biggest barrier.

Epcot has so many choices I'd go with whatever cuisine appeals most to YOU. Kids meals are really pretty standardized throughout WDW.

I will say that although it's not a classic sit-down restaurant, the Biergarten in Germany is a lot of fun. They have some really good food (and desserts - and isn't that key on Mothers' Day?).
