I was wondering what your daughter thought of common grounds? Can you give us some details of the activities she participated in and whether she enjoyed it? How did she like the cruise overall?

I thought I read on one of your posts that she didn't want to cruise next year and then I thought I read she wanted to bring a friend.

No, I don't have teens yet but we're getting closer(DD turns 11 next month) and I wanted to hear some details from a teens perspective.

Thanks!:p

This isn't Verandah Man, but I cruised last week also. My ds turned 14 last Thursday on the cruise. We did not see him except for breakfast and dinner. Common Grounds opened at 12:00 and he was there from then on. I do think the teenagers that cruised last week and used Common Grounds were not an extremely large number. But there was a group of them that had lunch together, went to movies in the afternoon and joined in the activities the club had. Some of the activities were group challenges, a night time pool party, glow in the dark sports and karaoke to name a few. On the other hand my dd, who turns 12 next month did not care to do many of the activities her age group had. She felt it was too crowded when there was joint activities with the 8-9 year olds. She was able to meet a few girls her age and basically hung around with them. However, if the club had something they were interested in they were able to participate. They both enjoyed themselves.

This is Angelina, Verandah Man's daughter.

Overall Common Grounds was really "AWESOME" and I would go back again to Common Grounds. They had a lot of different activities including Karaoke, dances, a modern version of hide and seek, deck parties, and a game to get to know other teens, a pajama party. Common Grounds is a place you can relax and be youreslf, I think your DD would like it.

I did have a good time, I was just missing some of my friends from home, I am taking one of my friends with me next year when we got back on the Magic.
