Hey Teachers-question about a lesson?

Hi all! I need to teach a compare and contrast lesson for one of my education classes. The best I have come up with is a venn diagram to visually go over the differences and similiarities (in this case a school day in US versus a school day in Japan).
Anyone have a creative way for me to teach a compare/contrast lesson?

I would get rid of the venn and use the upside down T. I think it is easier for kids to see. I will try and explain it. Draw a rectangle then at the bottom draw another parallel rectangle attachted to the first of the same length but half the width. Divide the upper rectangle in half and use one side for "USA" and one side for "Japan" write down all the things they can brain storm about our schools on our side and all they can come up with for Japan on the other side. THEN just go down the lists. Any thing that is the same you cross out and put in the rectangle at the bottom.

At the beginning of the year, we compared/contrasted the book we just finished and the short video of the same story. We used a Venn Diagram, then turned it into a writing piece.

Good idea. You can also stick on little post its to this instead of listing them. That way you can move them around. Supposedly this will help your 'hands on' learners! They're always looking for that!
