THE MOUNTAIN IS OUT!!!!!
Is there not anything better than hearing that or seeing Mt Rainier?? It's a beautiful day today here! 77 degrees and I wore shorts to work tonight! I wonder if there is any other city that has such a statement? You say it and people just know!!!

I first moved to this area in college and I remember how weird everyone thought "the mountain is out" was at first. That didn't stop everyone from adopting the saying though.

Baker is out too. Nothing wrong with Raineer, but Baker is what I see form my window.

82 degrees and clear here. Hard to believe we had snow on Monday.

We went tiptoeing through the tulips yesterday! (Well, DS2 was more like careening...) How beautiful it is up there! Bless my digital camera card that holds a bazillion photos!

Yup, you can see Mt. St. Helens from Portland, too, but I can only see Hood from my house, where I'm sitting on my deck and it's 82 degrees!

Hey, the mountains may be out but your poor Mariners are freezing in Cleveland. Game was just called because of snow.

When I came here to visit, the mountain was out...I moved 6 weeks later. It is amazing, glorious, wonderful, beautiful! Part of the reason I stay here is for the summer and the beautiful views. :cool1:

Nothing is better than a sunny 80 degree day and taking a walk on your lunch break over to Pikes to pick up some flowers. I love the northwest.

Whaaa! I wanna see Mt. Baker or Mt. Rainier from my window! :sad1: Or walk to the market on my lunch break. :flower3: Oh how I miss the Pacific Northwest!

All I see is this hump of dirt they call Camelback. It's not a Mountain! It's dirt with cactus growing on it!!!

They'll be here when you make it back.

(remembers St. Helens)

Hopefully. ;)

I am lost in the mountains and it is still gorgeous - we were walking around Lake Wenatchee this morning in t-shirts. I can't believe how much I missed seeing mountains these last couple of months I spent in Jersey. I told DH that someday, this is where I want to buy a vacation condo.

Can you see Mt Rainier from that side of the mountains or is it too far away?

We definitely can't see it from Spokane (we have Mount Spokane which is so not the same!) From here, we can't see it, but probably because we're in the thick of the mountains at Leavenworth, no more than 30 minutes or so from Stevens Pass. I don't know if we'll be able to see it from Hwy 2 tomorrow on the drive home, or if we'll be too far north.

We've lucked out, though - all three trips we've done to Seattle, the mountain has been out!

hmmm, I wonder how far away you can see it on the eastern side of the mountains? I imagine it doesn't look quite the same on that side though!
Hey, if anyone is going to be around Seattle Center tomorrow,(Saturday) stop by the Center House and 2:00 and you can see my DD's performing! They are in a group called Show Biz Kids. http://www.joinshowbizkids.com/

The weather is crazy today, we passed a sign on Bel-Red that said 90, we figured it was a major mistake!

I mowed the lawn today - blah. High power washed the patio too to get the 6 months of moss that's been growing off of there!

This thread is nothing without pics! :rolleyes1 Get those cameras clicking and show us sea level dwellers those pretty mountains. :thumbsup2
