Hey plus sized ladies, ever shop at Torrid?

I shop at Torrid regularly. Overall, they do skew pretty young, but I always end up finding one or two items that will work for the office. Their website tends to have a better selection of stuff, since the stores are typically very small. You can elect to have items shipped to your local store so you can try them on and return them instantly if they don't work for you.

They're pretty pricey, but they always have a coupons and sales going that bring their prices back down to what I'd consider average.

I've found that most of their items are pretty true to size, but I always have to try their tops and dresses on because they can be pretty revealing.

They're definitely not "old lady" clothes.

One thing I do like about Torrid is the shoes! They have a great selection of wide width sandals, shoes, and wide calf boots.

I pretty much stopped shopping at Torrid when they went more mainstream and got rid of all my goth stuff. :) They do have a lot of Disney stuff though! I think Hot Topic carries more Plus Size Disney stuff then they do, even though they are owned by the same company. And Hot Topic has better prices.

Avid Torrid shopper here. 32 years old and I don't feel it is too young for me. Mom is 56 and same size and sometimes steels my tops. We own several of the Disney shirts and the princess collection. I also bought several pairs of the all nighter boot cut pants and colored jeggings and leggings. While I do agree they are a bit on the expensive side. I keep my shopping cart ready and check back frequently for sales. Right now there is a 50% off online only flash sale.

I strongly encourage you to check out Avenue. I have loved every item of clothing I have purchased from there. They have awesome online sales too. I mainly shop online because the nearest one is quite a ways from me.

congrats to you :)

I'm 30 and I've shopped at TORRID for a few years now.
*quality is pretty good in my experience
*they run a "haute cash" sale 4 times per year I believe. The coupon codes are basically half off everything ($25 off $50, $50 off $100, $75 off $150, $100 off $200, and $150 off $300). Other than that you can often find codes for $30 off $75 or $50 of $125. They tend to run some sales that are BOGO 50% off, 20% off, and 40% off as well. Also if you join the Torrid Insider you'll get $10 rewards during your birthday month and after you have bult up enough points.
*They run true to size in my experience. Its hard to say how they run for me ATM because I was always a solid 18/2 but I have now lost 36lbs since last April.
*Completely opposite of old lady. In fact many of their clothes are geared more towards rebellious 18-21 year oldes with skulls and cross bones. At times it can be hard to find more appropriate clothing for my age.

Personally I tend to stick to jeans, dress pants, and dresses from them. They have a Disney line and i have several Disney themed dresses from them.

I am 35 (GAH!!!!) and love Torrid. I don't think it looks "too young" or like it's all "club" wear. Yes, there are some more trendy items or "club" wear type things, but there is plenty of every day wear and even stuff I would easily wear to the office. I LOVE their work pants for example and have several pairs and have NEVER had anyone say they were not appropriate for a business setting. I also have dresses from there that with a sweater work for a professional setting as well.

Some of the tshirts can be thin, but a lot are not. I have some of both and just layer the thinner ones with a cheap tank top.

I find the quality overall wonderful. I am, however, not a huge fan of how their jeans fit for my body... but I also seem to have that issue with most places.

They can be pricey but often have sales or codes. I rarely have ever payed full price for something (and I own a LOT from them).

I love them. They're one of those places where you should never pay full price, though - they run frequent sales with really deep discounts and if you get on their mailing list send out coupons every couple weeks for $15 off $50 or similar. Their looks do skew younger than most plus-sized brands, which is why I shop there, and the quality is good. Not great - some tops are a bit thin and look best layered - but their jeans hold up really well as do their bras. The only problem I have with them is that at our store, at least, it can be difficult to find the smaller sizes in their range. When I was a 24/2x I found a lot more in stock there; now that I've lost a couple sizes the selection is more limited and I sometimes have to resort to buying online, which I don't like doing with clothing.

Can someone tell me what size their bras go up to? Do they do bra fittings there? If so, do ya need an appointment?
