ok bad topic I know but its thats time of year again to do the hoiday grand plan... and here I am yet again quietly asking if anyone wants to join me... anyone?

I am happy to say that I don't need to get organized. DH has been going hog wild at home, organizing stuff. (I suppose I should consider that an upside to unemployment). You would cry tears of joy if you saw my linen closet.

Binny I have already begun. Right now dh & I are tackling our books. Upside, got all the kids books finished. Downside, cannot get rid of college books. I just love books, what can I say.

Do you mean the Holiday Grand Plan at organizedhome.com? Already started it! So I'm on board if that's the one.

I already clean and declutter with Flylady, so some of it is overlap, and some of it is getting moved up because I'm having a baby at the end of October. But I've already made my card list, my gift list (some purchased), and started the Christmas letter. My freezer should be full by then anyway, because I'm filling it in anticipation of the littlest DS. DH thinks I'm a little crazy but he is glad it will be done early.

I am one of the most organized people you'll ever meet. It's actually what I do for a living as a records coordinator at a law firm. It scares people to see how organized I am sometimes.

Oh, and Binny, I love that picture of your kids. It's so adorable. They look like a fun bunch.

Maleficent, I also clean and declutter with Flylady!! My house has never been so clean and presentable!

As far as the holidays, I haven't even started but I'd love to get stuff done ahead of time so my holidays will be more fun and less stressed. Thanks for the reminder, Binny, and those kids are so cute!!

I may join you Binny! I need to get organized. My house has been neglected for a little over a year. I am so overwhelmed right now! I opened my one kitchen cabinet to put away dishes & I noticed it was so packed with candy! When I take candy away from my DS or just want to keep it somewhere that he can't reach it too easily, I put it up in the cabinet. I cleaned out one gallon sized Glad Bag of candy yesterday! Now my cabinet looks clean. Only have about 9 more to go!

Now for you Dis'ers that subscribe to Flylady....I have a question for you. How in the world do you get anything done when you're getting 500 e-mails from Flylady per day? I subscribed & unsubscribed within a few days! It was awful. Anyway, I did most of the stuff they say to do daily anyway (I have to have shiney sinks/tubs & toilets!)

I took a look at that Organizedhome.com website.....it's pretty interesting. I tried to tackle my familyroom (which I consider my livingroom since we use our formal livingroom as an office) & made pretty good progress, uh...that is, until the baby woke up! Now I'm too busy to get back in there! I need to get that china cabinet done in there but I can't take my breakables out till the little fella goes down for a nap (or for the night!)

Seems too early to buy staples for holiday baking though?

Tyring to get organized here too. We are going to put our house on the market and Im trying hard to get rid of stuff I have had forever. Crazy and Clutter you 2 may be the queens of clutter but Im the queen of the packrats!! My 20th high school reunion is this year and I still have both my prom dresses hanging in my closet!! lol

So the Grand Plan is what we would be working on for now.

Here's my opinion although I'll be happy to go along with whatever the rest would like. I'm really bad about checking PM's here so that might not be the best for me. I do have Yahoo e-mail which I'm much better about checking. I like the idea of posting somewhere better than e-mails.

On a side note I tried the links in your post but keep getting Page not Found. Went to Google and tried to link from there but got the same message so maybe the site is down?

I think my DH would faint if I totally decluttered.

Just wanted to add that I'm a Flybaby too!

As far as all the e:mails I receive...I just delete all the testimonials and reminders right away. I only read the missions and what Flylady sends. Even though I don't do everything that Flylady tells me to when she tells me to, it put the idea in my head that the mission needs to be done. Then I do it whenever I have the chance. I have to saw...it will work if you let it. I enjoy being in my house more with less clutter. No more CHAOS!!!!!! (You flybabies know what I'm talking about!)

Now I'm heading over to check the link you gave. Thanks for the info! I'm always up for organization!

I got into the site yesterday but was having trouble today as well. Anyway, from what I looked into yesterday the grand plan is a way to thoroughly clean and organize your home. It breaks down into weekly tasks and goes room by room. I think there were also tasks like double up dinner and freeze for another night.
