Hmm...1,200 miles seems like a long trek for Brownie sundaes for John and Kevin. Of course, I think that Southern NH is in my "brownie radius", so I would be glad to eat them in their stead. Let me know when the brownies are still warm.
On a side note...it occurs to me that we need a new smilie - one cramming a giant slice of cake/pie/other assorted pastry into its (do they have a gender?) mouth. I can see it in my head now. Maybe that's why I take those little pills.
You know what's funny? Literally, before that podcast I did not know people liked the edges!
When I make brownies, I cut a quarter inch all the way around to get rid of the edges. I prefer the middle pieces but put the edges in a rubbermaid and eat them myself as I don't like to waste food but don't want to serve the edges to guests/others. After that podcast, I told DH that I discovered some people like the edges. Guess what!!? DH loves the edges and always wondered why there were never any for him
After all this time I never knew he preferred them...sheesh! I made Christmas brownies (4 eggs and half a pound of good chocolate) and made sure DH got all the edges!
I think we need a new infomercial where Sally Struthers comes out and talks about how there are people out there starving for brownie edges. For just $1.00/day we can eliminate browniedgitis and make the world a better place.
Of course, last time I saw Sally, I'd be concerned that the brownies would never make it to those "in need".
Thanks for all the birthday wishes. I truly wish you all could be here to share in my brownies even though it seems Kevin would not come! That's it...I am officially offended!
You know Kevin...you could amuse me and say you would love to come and I PROMISE I would NOT hold you to it!!
