Debi
We are also doing Randi's
apparently she and Frank know each other very well and are able to ensure we have time to do both without rushing around. Some of the earlier West coast cruisers did this itinery and reports of both excursions are good.
Frank is going to meet us at 1;15pm, randi's tour normally gets back at 2;00pm , it just means we have a little less time on the beach at Victors at the end, i decided it was worth it to see some of the town, have a chat to your DH and let us know what you think.

No Docs here yet :sad2:

Hey Debi,

We are leaving at 9 from DL for the ship, from what I have read, the earlier the better!! :cool1:

Lynn....what is the beach you are visiting after your tour in Mazatlan? :confused3

Still no docs here!! We went to the shore this weekend, and, it will be blazing tomorrow!! Whoooooopppppppppeeeeeee! :rotfl:

I've heard some good things about the canopy tours on the trip reports......we have the DCL one booked and I'm alittle scared!! :smooth:

It's so close, I saw a plane today and I got alittle psyched!! Whoooweee!! :cheer2:

I still have Randi's booked, but had considered dropping it. DH wants us to stick with the dolphins only in PV due to the $$ of it. I would love to do the tour, but the kids I am sure would be totally bored. What's a girl to do?? :confused3 DH isn't a touristy person, so he might get off with me just to explore, but that's his limit!

Well, DS11 and his father's family left for St. Pete (via air) today. I am thinking that that's a risk just for the fact of the tornados and storms they will have as Dennis passes that coastal area. While he is not coming ashore there, I would think they would be getting some severe storms. :umbrella:

I have been "deep cleaning" the house. It keeps my mind off the computer. I was spending way too much time on the DIS!!! :disrocks: DS helped me move furniture today. He has been such a peach! (must want something!) :rotfl2:

Debi Never met a margarita I didn't like!! :drinking1 Meet you at the Promenade Lounge! :drinking:

Have a great weekend all!

We're leaving at 9 AM for the port also! I've gotta be in that
early boarding group!!!! :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:

We saw one of the families we'll be cruising with tonight and they got their docs TODAY!!! Boo hoo for us...we still haven't gotten ours.

Jenny-we have Randi's booked too and we're more than likely going to cancel. DS3 keeps saying he doesn't want to go and he's the potty thing is very new for him, so it will more than likely be a bad idea for us. Oh, and I'm a marg girl too! YUMMY!

We're going to leave for the port between 9 and 9:30....we'll be staying just 5 minutes away so we'll be there pretty quick. :teeth:

Oh Lisa! The potty training! I was so fortunate to have wonderful sitters who really worked with my kids while I was at work. DS11 was so easy! DS8 and DD6 were both 3 1/2! ( I blame DH ~ he is the father of the last two!) I don't miss that phase! You definitely need some "get it done in less than twenty days pixie dust"!!!!!!!! :wizard: :wizard: :wizard: :wizard:

I have tried all weekend to get my UPS delivery switched to "will call" so I can go and get my docs Monday. I just know I'll miss the delivery guy if not! :earseek:

I want to get to the port early, but am losing the battle. With us going to the game in SD Friday night, I know everyone will be grouchy and tired...but not me! I will be up anxiously awaiting. I didn't sleep the last time!! I have the limo for 10:30, but am going to back it up to 10:00. :moped: Save me a place in line!!!

I am up early watching the "storm". So awful! DS11 made it safely to Tampa/St. Pete last night. He says it was calm and not raining (yet). They are expected to get the spin off storms of the hurricane. I worry about tornados. I am NOT a storm person! :sad2:

Happy Sunday all!

Just checked the weather channel site - i'm almost sure they will
be ok - seems to be hitting Alabama....
I was also VERY LUCKY with babysitters.....bless those people.....
it is not an easy, stay-at-home job!

You think you've got it bad....waiting for UPS....think about Lynn and
those docs crossing 'the pond'!!!! :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Was just reading the Disneyland boards - expecting record crowds and
someone just said this morning they are not guaranteeing hotel guests
entrance to the park (they were discussing the last week in July).
I'm not too worried - our family and friends, when it comes to Disney,
are get up and go people. Speaking of the GC, I read on the Disneyland
boards also that if you get to the entrance to DCA 20 minutes early (from
the hotel) - they give you a short tour of the front of the park and take
you to Soarin before the other guests....keep that in mind.

Poor, poor Lisa - she arranged for all her friends to go on this cruise and she doesn't get her 'docs'! Lisa, did you say your travel agent will
get them....we didn't go thru a travel agent - maybe that is the difference?

We were definitely on a "Disneyland high" last night - went to our local
Reading Phillies game and they had fireworks after the game.....they were
beautiful.....only one thing on our mind as we were watching them!!!

Minor league baseball is a BLAST! Always a "gimmick" which makes it entertaining for even those who aren't baseball fans!! :flower:

Lynn will be excited to see those docs I am sure! Wonder what the "British Doc Dance" looks like??? :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

It sounds like our DIS meet will be at the terminal around 9:30/10 am!! :grouphug:

Still no docs but I am down the shore so maybe they are at home... :confused3

I can't believe we are getting such an early hurricane on the East Coast (just as long as it stays away from the CA/Mexican area!!) :umbrella:

As soon as I get home, it will be pre-cruise cleaning for me too!! :earboy2:

JoAnn - do you do 'that' too - clean before you go away? :rotfl:
My DH thinks I'm crazy but everything must be spotless before
I step out of that door! I feel so much better on vacation......
I'm NOT starting to clean yet, though. Remember I have a 13 yr. old
boy, who has constant friends in this house, and an 18 yr. old, who is
a total slob.....plus my DH and myself who are so busy in the next two
weeks, I'm not about to clean up yet.

So many doctor appts. in the next two weeks, Tyler MAY need 4 teeth pulled next week (baby teeth), I'm crazy about that appointment - I have, yes Lucy, dentophobia, so being brave for my son is NOT an easy job. :sad2:

I actually take a few days off from work BEFORE the vacation to clean.

Last night was a hoot. I'm not a fan of minor leagues, but the tickets were
free (I do anything FREE these next two weeks!!! :cool1: :cool1: ), Tyler
took a friend along and they stayed in the pool all night watching the game,
the food was GREAT picnic food, and then the fireworks.

I was thinking....reading the Disneyland boards....I better make some more
reservations for either breakfast or lunches, since DL is going to be so full.
I have reservations for Blue Bayou on Wed., the 27th, at 11:30. Some of the DD restaurants sound good also - either the Jazz Kitchen or the Italian restaurant. OUR family LOVES Mexican food, only food we agree on, and I did read about a Mexican restaurant in DD also. Anyone have suggestions for us, since this is our first visit.

It DOES sound like alot of us will meet up at the terminal - I'm so glad!!!!
IF we did that (meet) - it would make the time go faster. HOW will we
all recognize each other - I'm so concerned about that....I do want to meet
everyone ASAP. :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:

Actually, they open the gates for everyone to DCA 30 minutes before the park opens. You can walk over to the entrance to Hollywood Backlot (to get closer to Tower of Terror) or ride Soarin' Over California, which will be a walk on at that time of the morning. I understand the "tour" for GC folks is not much of a tour.

We plan on getting to the terminal around 10; I am making DCL coloring books for my nieces for the wait. If you are interested in one for your children, let me know and I'll make some extras.

Okay, those of you with young girls, what do you do for their hair on formal night? I am totally stressing over that one thing! I wish I could get appointments in the salon for them that night, but I guess it is not allowed :( .

I am off to Orlando Tuesday. I have a reserved seat for the Shuttle launch on Wednesday and a conference Friday - Sunday. If you "need" anything from the area (or even have suggestions on what to see while there :) ) let me know.

PS - no doc's here.

How exciting to see the shuttle launch, I hope everything goes ok there's a lot riding on this one.
No Docs here I'll be phoning Keith every 5 minutes next week poor man.

Now Jenny we still haven't got baseball tickets yet but we've sorted out what we are doing in LA and it seems we can go on Monday night. We won't be sitting on top of the game cos we can't afford it but which is better seats higher but around the bases or field level but in the out field??
West coasters Do you know anything about the Dodger Stadium we've been told Metro bus 2 goes there but is it a hike to get in would we be better off driving?
Thanks I'm going to post this on the DL board too.
Not sure who asked me this think it was Jo Ann Randi's riding tour ends up at a beach restarant on Stone Island so that is the beach I'm referring to in my post.

Hi All,
Does anyone know about the computers on the cruise? Are they just for internet use or can you bring a zip drive and load info to work on them say in microsoft word? Not for me, hubby wants to do some work on board!
DEBI: Glad you're joining us for the canopy tour! The more the merrier!

Finally an nice day hear! No more rain!
Take Care
Wendy :flower:

Well, my husband always tells people "my wife doesn't do upper deck" hence my tag "Mrs. Preferred View". :rotfl2: I am even picky about my view at the Boardwalk!!

I am not fond of sporting events from "the air". I have a hard time "getting into a game" and most importantly "seeing it". DH says it's all in what you feel you would like. I am a sound person, so I like to hear the bat crack, umpire call the strikes, etc. Some people love the seats high and closer to the plate. I sent you a p.m. as there are four seats (two sets of two from the same person in the same row) on E-Bay that I think are kind of nice. It gives you a picture sitting in the seats. Don't forget to go to seatdata.com You can get a view from any seat section in Dodger Stadium (most U.S. stadium/arenas as well) which is nice because you can get a feel before you buy! We use that A LOT! Now, sometimes if the game isn't really crowded, you can just scout out a seat somewhere and hope no one claims it. They just usually say "that's my seat" and you get up and move! :rotfl:

We will be at that game too! I can't tell you where though, as DH is snoring up a storm in his chair :rolleyes2 and he bought the seats!

Hey MB! One idea would be to have them get their hair braided on the ship prior to formal night. My DDs would just blow it out themselves on formal night. Mainly, you want to have it look nice for your formal portrait if you get one. :earsgirl:

Lynn, usually the seats behind the bases are considered better than the ones in the outfield and the farther down the better (which is why they usually cost more.)

Yes, Lucy, I try to clean my house and every cabinet before a trip. I usually exhaust myself before the trip........it's time to get started!! :earboy2:

While I am no expert (first trip), I understand the computers are nothing more than "dumb" internet terminals, only good for email and surfing the next - no way to connect anything to them.

Among the few things I have been told not to do by their parents (tattoos, piercings) hair braiding is one of them! Beside which, my mother would kill me if they were in braids for formal pictures!

macbaby ~ DD6 has hair down past her waist with bangs. I usually leave it down and gather some hair from the sides to make a small pony on top. I then add a bow at the top. Her hair is very fine and straight, so curling is not an option (a waste of time!!!). It's funny, I wore my hair exactly like that when I was six!!

I like the braids that are partial (just the top). I have never had her hair braided because it's so fine. It just falls out immediately.

You guys have me on the floor! :rotfl2: I wish I could say I exhaust myself getting the house clean before a vacation. When we leave for vacation I'm running from the house...I can't wait to get away from it!

I tell ya, kids are all different. My first son was a breeze to have potty trained. He wanted to go to Disneyland and we told him he had to be out of diapers to see Mickey. Well, it worked and he was trained in two weeks. He was just over 3. Second son...well that rationale did not work. He wants to go on the cruise so we told him to do that he had to be out of diapers. Right now he's potty trained with #1, but #2 is another story. He refuses to use the little potty for it...so in the underware every time. So yes, I need lots of pixie dust over the next 20 days or so.

Jenny-I'm glad to hear your son got to FL safely!

Wendy-I heard the computers on the ship are only for internet use...no hookups or downloads allowed or possible. My DH has a Blackberry cell phone combo where he can get emails (and make phone calls too) so that's the route he's gonna take. I know, who would want to work on vacation? Well, the job is what's paying for the vacation and so we'd like that job to exist when we return hence he'll be using the blackberry in port.....such is life!

Macbaby-I don't understand...no hair appointments are allowed on formal night? Or not for children? That stinks! Enjoy the shuttle launch...it's a once in a lifetime experience, I'm sure! I got to watch a live launch via satellite in my career days (it's not the same as being there). My first assigned project was working with NASA. Our company made the booster disconnects, which is what allows the boosters to disconnect from the shuttle. It was exciting to see the launch via satellite (especially the control room stuff) but we all agreed it would have been way better to be in FL! Have a great time!

In my cleaning defense.....before a trip or a party is when I do my best work! :goodvibes

Sorry about the hair braiding idea, my DDs (who are in their late teens and young twenties) have occasionally had the braids done on our island trips and their hair looks nice in the formal pictures! I like it but they don't always do it that way. :confused3

We're enjoying beautiful weather here in So Jersey this week! How's the weather around the country?? :cloud9:

Who would have believed it... 25 years married today :cheer2:

see how easy it is..... :wave2: :rotfl: :badpc: :love2:

Have a great day..... :cool1:
