I'm planning on ADR'S for Chef Mickey's and Crystal Palace (though not going til October, so still optional) but I want to plan at least one place just for my DH. I know for certain that he could not care less about the "atmosphere" of a place (but will be a good sport for the kiddies!!), he just wants really good, filling food! Where do the guys like HIM like to eat? DH is really only going for me and the girls, but I want him to have at least one place that he comes home saying "you know, that was really great!!"

DH's favorites are:

California Grill
Brown Derby
Bongos
Cape May Clam Bake
Spoodles
ESPN
50's Prime Time
Turkey Leg Cart
Egg Roll Cart
Fish & Chips Stand

If he is a steak eater, take him to Le Cellier.:)

He is a steak eater and I've seen that a lot of people go to Le Cellier. I wasn't sure if it was another place people go mainly for the atmosphere or if the food is really that good! Might be a meal where we leave the kids with my DSis and just grownups go!!

I'm going to look over the others listed too!!

Still happy for more opinions, though!

My DH prefers a casual restaurant with ribs, burgers, etc. During our last trip, we did a lot of character meals. He didn't complain, but in retrospect - other than our lunch at Flame Tree Barbecue (AK), I doubt he really loved any of the experiences. I take that back, he did LOVE Biergarten in Germany/Epcot WS. He said he would like to go back there. With DD4, we prefer to enjoy more family oriented meals and have chosen not try Le Cellier, etc. For our November trip, I am letting DH choose the meals. He does want try Narcoosee's because he loves seafood. In addition, he most excited about Ohana, WCC and Sci Fi. I think the latter will be very kid friendly as well.

Flame Tree was actually on my short list!!! Soooo glad to hear it's a DH-friendly place!!

For a "grown up" meal, Artist Point at Wilderness is great. Its a signature restaurant so not cheap, but it will deliver a memorable meal in an atmosphere that feels relaxed rather than themed.

I hadn't heard of this. scritch scritch <<that's the sound of me jotting MORE notes!!:goodvibes

My DH is a simple man...nothing fancy (why we never do signature restaurants...plus he refuses to dress up on vacation). His favorites are, in order: LeCellier for the filet, Plaza Restaurant for the reuben, shake and sundae, Biergarten for the buffet and Flame Tree Barbecue for the ribs and cornbread!

funny, i just reponded to another poster asking the same question.

wolfgang puck cafe (loves it)
tutto italia
captn jack (lobster tails)
spoodles
coral reef

(fyi, LeCellier is not on his favorite list. it's not bad, but simply that we've had much better steaks, etc elsewhere).

we're trying the biergarten in may ~ it definately looks to be a contender:thumbsup2

My DH recommends the Biergarten! Good filling food, HUGE beers, entertainment which kept the kids happy, and we had the sweetest little server you could ever hope for.;)

My DH is basically a meat and potatoes kind of guy. He doesn't like a lot of sauces and he is not very adventourous when it comes to trying new foods. We no longer go to Le Cellier as we feel the quality has slipped a great deal over the past few years. It used to be outstanding.
We always eat at Teppan Edo in Japan. It is good food and the chef entertains as he cooks right at your table. The teppan (grilled) food is really good.
Another restaurant that is a must do each trip is Restaurant Marrakesh in Morrocco. DH orders the Berber Feast. The restaurant is beautiful and quiet, the food is excellent, not overly spiced, the servers are warm and friendly and there is a band and a belly dancer to entertain. We enjoy it very much

My husband has tried many different meals at LeCellier and the only steak that he craves is the mushroom filet mignon. He thought the other steaks there were just "okay." However, his favorite restaurants are:

> Espn Club on the boardwalk.
> Spoodles on the boardwalk.
> Liberty Tree for lunch (pot roast).
