Hey Everyone, We're on the Magic!

Barb: The 17th Magic cruisers are reporting a sewage smell outside of the shops last week. Have you noticed this?

(YUK!)

Any chance of letting us know what's playing at the movies on board?
Is "Finding Nemo" Premearing while you're on board?

UUUUUGH The dreaded sewage smell. We had that smell in our porthole cabin last year, with no verandah door to open to clear the air.

After 3 days of complaining and my kids and us gagging, they changed our room.

Again Barb! How's trix? Hey MJ, what is Adult Magic Quest?

Hey MJ, we'll definitely let them know. We plan to be at both the 70s and 80s parties.
Pugdog, no sewage smell that we've noticed, although we haven't spent too much time in that area. Hubby is the shopaholic in our family, so I'll tell him to check it out when he stocks up on new shirts.
Tony, I suspect that Nemo will be prem"ear"ing because they have a poster for it outside of the movie theater. Hubby's theory is that it might be instead of the farewell variety show, but that's just a guess. I'll update when we hear official news.
We just got back from Hercules. After seeing this cast when they first started out, it was so much fun to see how they've come along. And I noticed something for the first time...if you look at the two main "Greek columns," you will notice the face of comedy at the top of the left one and tragedy at the top of the right one. I don't know if it's the same on the Wonder...this is the first time I've ever noticed on the Magic. Of course, I am a major comedy/tragedy buff, with over 100 pairs hanging in one room of my house.
We slept in and then did Palo brunch this morning. It was as delicious as ever. I had the beef and the eggs florentine...mmmmm! But of course high tea is my favorite...that's coming up on Thursday.
Yesterday, we didn't disembark again in Key West, but we still got to see the Catman. We went to the Rainforest before dinner, and afterwards, we looked down from Deck 9 and there he was! It is a great vantage point for his show, and there was also a fire juggler. I watched a bit too long and ended up going to dinner with damp hair because those dryers take forever, but it was worth it.
Our stateroom host does his best to keep things tidy, even going so far as to fold the clothes we leave out! If he could see our house, he wouldn't bother (hee hee). I wish we could bring him home with us.
Dinner was at Animators last night. Kendall had my "special" tea waiting for me, and once again, Sasha brought a sampler of several desserts. They were so good!
We had spa treatments today and lounged around on the verandah and in the Rainforest. The relaxation is great. On sea days, you do notice that the ship is full, but there are plenty of areas where you can escape for quiet time. I'm so glad we have a verandah this time too, as that is the ultimate place to escape.
The Castaway Club party was enormous, as there are well over 800 repeaters on board. It spread into all three clubs on Beat Street.
It's almost time to get ready for dinner, and I still have email to check, so I'll run. My only complaint is how fast this trip is going!

 Hi Barb! Glad you and Tony are enjoying the MAGIC, sounds like a wonderful trip so far! :sunny:

Thanks for the updates and I hope you enjoy Grand Cayman tomorrow! :)

Joanne....Adult Magic Quest is a type of Scavenger Hunt game. The cruise staff pairs off the audience into teams and then read a list of items that needs to be brought up to the stage. Which ever team gets the items and bring the up to the stage first gets the most points and whoever gets the most points by the end of the game wins!!!

It was very funny as some of the things they ask for are...a man wearing women's shoes and a bra. Women were taking off their bras (from under their blouses) and handing them to men, and kicking off their shoes. I didn't want people to think they were baring their breasts or anything, because they did not.

Some other things were a piece of fruit between your teeth (we took it off the tropical drink we had), the strangest thing in your purse, something red, white, blue, or you had to show them an appendix scar...etc. You have to be inventive and the rules are if another table has what you are looking for you can grab it and use it.

It was a hoot!!!

MJ

Barb and Tony, sounds like a great trip so far. can't wait to see the trip report and new navigators, etc. We are cruising in Aug. Have fun!! Beth A

With Sasha as your waiter, you will definitely need lots of treadmill time! Our 6 yr old granddaughter STILL talks about him from our March "Mystery" cruise! He is truely fabulous and extremely energetic - not to mention the multiple desserts he FORCES you to try!!!!! He really MADE our cruise for us! Have fun and let us know what Grand Cayman is like (as we didn't get there).

Barb, did they have the bars open in all three clubs? Did they have the snacks set up in all three clubs? Also, were drinks still free?

Hey Barb ,
thanks for the onboard reports . Gives me a reason to explore all of the different cruise trips ( always looking for a reason to go to Florida anyway ). Was wondering if you guys could take pics of some of the shops and some of the merchandise available. We will be on the Wonder next June , and as closet shop-a-holics the shopping will take a big bite out of our budget . It would be nice to see what is offered . Also a run down on the various picture's offered in shutters would be good to add to the site ( ex. I know they take formal pics , and pics when you get onboard , and at Castaway Cay ). Was wondering where else during the trip , especially since the 7 day offers even more chances. If I am not mistaken you can have a formal session with the photographer , what is the cost for this as opposed to the regular pics ? If you ( or ) someone else can answer this I would be greatfull . Also does anyone have a pic of the alpha capsule ? I would love to try this !

Crsndsny, there was food and drinks in all three of the clubs, and the Captain, Cruise Director Jim, and the rest of the entourage made an appearance in each of the clubs to welcome everyone.
Nicki, I think the alpha capsule is one of the only things we don't have a photo of! But I'll ask hubby to take one on this trip, as we'll be spending a lot more time in the spa. I'll also see if there is a price list for the photos. We don't buy a lot anymore since we've cruised so many times that we have just about every pose.
We went to Palo last night, and the food was as fantastic as always. I had a delicious carbonara special, and Tony had the tuna special...mmmmm! Excellent as always. He is still up in the stateroom sound asleep, but I am going to do a walk on deck 4 to try to burn off a few of the calories. We are at Grand Cayman, but it looks like it wants to rain so we'll probably disembark later, after the weather sorts itself out. It looks like to could blow over, so I have my fingers crossed. I want to get to the beach and also get a rum cake.
I'm going to run for now, but I will check in again later. We have spa appointments booked for 5ish, so I'll check in after that.

Sounds like you guys are having a wonderful time -- can't wait to read the trip report -- we are taking the same cruise in August!

I am looking forward to reading your trip report.

Don't worry, the new navs and menus will be posted shortly after we return. Actually, our menus are already almost complete thanks to MarkRG. The only one that will be different is Tropicali.
Today we took a cab to Seven Mile Beach. We went to Royal Palms, which is $3 per person each way for the cab ride. Then you pay $3 for access to their facilities and you can rent beach chairs for $5 each. The restroom and shower facilities were nice and clean. Hubby rented a jet ski which was $65 for half an hour. I spent a couple of hours in the water and got a sunburn...ouch! Thankfully it's not too bad so I should be ready for action in Cozumel tomorrow. We don't have any plans...we'll just disembark and see what we feel like doing.
I'm going to run and get us seats for the 80s Party now while Tony checks his email. I'll be checking in again tomorrow.

Great reports I feel like I am there. Have a fantastic time and keep those reports coming.

how much they charge for pressing clothes. I really don't want to iron on ship...it was always so hot!! Somebody suggested just pack wrinkled and then send it out as soon as you get on board and price was 1/2 of dryclean, only problem is don't know how much that is.

thanks!
Marie

We were on the Eastern 5/17/03 and had Sasa as our server! I mentioned you and Tony to him. He is great, I hope he will be there on our next cruise so we can request him.

Please tell Sasha and Kendall that Mark, Laura, Bill and Barbara from table 68 says hello and miss them.

We had a sewage smell one night (woke us up in wee hours of morning) in our stateroom 7028. Being pregnant it didn't take much for me to gag from it. We got up and closed our bathroom doors and sprayed Lysol, that helped. I had noticed the sewage smell one day around the stores too.

I hope you are enjoying the cruise, we are having the post-cruise depression. :(

MBFergie -

The prices for cleaning and pressing were the topic of a fairly extended thread a few weeks back. If you can't find the thread (and I don't remember them specifically) they were pretty close to land dry-cleaning and as you noted pressing only was half.
