We are staying at BWV next month and we'll be needing drinks and snacks for our villa. I know there is a Hess station near BWV. My question is do you think it would be cheaper to get a cab and go the Hess and pick up what we need? Or get it from garden grocer? And does garden grocer deliver beer? We did our shopping at Hess last trip but we had our vehicle. We are flying this time. Thanks.

The Hess station is right across the street from the entrance to BWV. You could easily walk there.

While we would use GG and did-after a few days the "young adults" did grab a suitcase with wheels and walked over to Hess-dont ask what they brought back. :drinking1

I went to the Hess station to see what was offered, and I didn't even see pre-packaged lunch meats, like Hilshire Farms. If you want the beer, sure, but I did not see a wide selection of food items.

We're probably just going to buy a case of bottled water, a case of soft drinks, milk, chips, mostly just snack food. I'm just worried about how difficult it will be to carry these things back to the resort without a vehicle.

I've seen lots of people come to the BWV pool rolling suitcases with stuff from Hess!

I never thought of using a rolling suitcase! First adults only trip with my DH in January and we were going to walk over to the Hess station to pick up some supplies.

I love these boards!!:lovestruc

I never thought about using the luggage to bring back the stuff. Wonderfull idea ! Thank you !

It's a lot farther than you thing with a couple of cases of beer!!!! Even with rolling coolers!!!!

We have used GG for the past few years and can't say enough about them. They do deliver any kind of alcohol you request: beer, wine, hard licks. It isn't offered in their menu, so to speak, but when you check out there is a "comments" section - that is where you make your alcohol requests.

Trekking over to Hess is a reasonable option - but I always think, "Why would I want to spend my valuable vacation time lugging stuff around when someone can deliver it right to my door?" Oftentimes the goods are already there when we arrive - and we can have a drink while we unpack! :-)

Do you have to be at the resort when Gardengrocer delivers or will they leave it at the front desk?

When you check out you will select a delivery window - I love the fact that they only take as many orders as they can handle. And for the record, our experience as been that more times than not they deliver early.

If you aren't in your room - even if you haven't checked in yet - they will leave your items with bell services. All frozen items are kept frozen, refrigerated items are kept refrigerated. You can either pick them up yourself at bell services or have them bring it to your room.

I have asked Garden Grocer a ton of questions and called them today as well.

You can order in advance, and the closer to your trip the closer the time slots close up. But if you want to order way in advance, like weeks, it is done all the time.

Adding alcohol is easy, and they will need a Faxed ID in order to leave it with bell services. They will call back on your comments request for alcohol and give you the extra costs. I was curious if I could send my ID via email attachment, as I don't have a fax, and the customer service said YES.
(I do have a scanner).

If you order 200 dollars the delivery is free, if you order less it is 12 dollars.

They will also take requests for other items not shown on the shopping lists.

It seemed very easy, and I remember seeing how Bell services takes up all the groceries to your room on a luggage cart for you.

I love the idea of taking your large suitcase with rolling wheels to the Hess Gas Station, that is a clever way of handling a case of beverages.

I have been to the Hess gas station, I remember their selection of food items was minimal, but their fast food snacks were quite nice and inexpensive.

Does anyone remember the Hot snacks sold there besides the Pizza. I kind of remember some breakfast things too. Do they offer fountain drinks?

Thanks, Phil

We've used garden grocer for the last 3 years and just put our order in for our upcoming trip in 45 days. We have NEVER had a problem at all! Our orders have always been correct, always been on time and their prices are very reasonable. We've even got adult beverages and didn't have a problem with that either!
