So today, tomorrow, and thursday are auditions for my school's musical.
This year we are doing The Wiz
It is the R&B version of The Wizard of Oz.
The music is pretty catchy and the dancing is insane, from just the one song we learned for auditions.
Now I can't sing for anything, I just want to be a flying monkey. hheheh
Has anyone seen this play?

Anyone else out their into theatre and drama?
Doing any interesting shows at this time?

I'm under the opinion of anyone who touches the original write of the woz to make something like that should be strung up by their toenails and let wild dogs lick their ears.

I like The Wiz.. my friends' school did it a few years ago and it's very entertaining

You know thats kind of exactly how I feel, I love the original. I know this version is supposed to be more aimed towards African Americans. The movies are really different, I'm not gona lie I was scared during the movie of the Wiz, but the music seems catchy and fun, plus I need to stay commited whether I like the show or not. It'll grow on me. lol

My high school did "Bye Bye Birdie" last year. Honestly, it is not one of my favorite musicals, and it was not one of our better plays (the show we did the year before, "Hello Dolly!," was probably the best play our school had ever done). Do you have a role in it?

I'm just in the Chorus and I'm part of the NYC Chorus also. I'm sorry to hear that it wasn't a very good play for u guys. I'm excited and I think that this play will be AWESOME for us. What are you doing this year??

The Chorus and backround is loads of fun! Thats were i was last year in Beauty and the Beast for our school, and That;s where I will prolly be thisd year too! haha I don't sing, lol

Yea that's where I normally am during our plays. It is pretty fun. I'm kinda hopin though that one day I will get a lead part sometime!!!

I was also in the chorus (both years I was in the play), and in "Bye Bye Birdie," I also had a small role as one of the reporters. The show wasn't entirely bad- our leads were awesome! But, we didn't have as much time to prepare due to anumber of things that went on with our directors, etc.
But it was still fun.

I'm no longer in high school, but I've heard that my former school is doing "High School Musical" for their play this year.

I'm sure our school will do it amazingly, not to be cocky but our director is amazing and we have a great theatre club thing lol,
